There's just SO much missing from this story. How did she meet the two men? Why did she go to their room? Why were they asleep when she was there?
It just doesn't add up.

A naked 18-year old cheerleader falls from a hotel balcony, with alcohol in her system, and the two supects with "inconsistencies" in their stories are released and it's classified as an accident. Something stinks here...

i agree, should look into date rape drug , ectasy, or some other mind altering drug the boys used on her. god help me that I brought my children up well enough to stay out of situations that arise from not being cautious and using your head.

agreed - let's hear the rest of the story.

Accidents do happen. Maybe she outdrank them, they passed out and she wandered out to the balcony and lost her balance. Who knows. There's always some story in the paper about some college student falling out of a dorm window after heavy drinking.

Something stinks here... Maybe not. What possible motive could these two men have to murder her and then go to sleep?

The men told police that Crossan was in their room when they fell asleep early Monday. Her clothes and personal belongings were still in the room when police arrived to question them, but the men said they did not know what happened to her, Faaumu said.Intriguing.

Hmmm, what would be the point of a couple of Limp Biscuits? Blackbird.

"It just freaked us out," said Sahara Smith, 16, a dancer from St. Petersburg, Fla. "Everyone here is edgy about going on the balcony now."
It will all be ok, dear. There are two things that you must remember when you are out at 2:00 AM star-gazing in the nude with two nice young men. First, remember to bring protection. Secondly, and most important my dear, try not to slip on the disposed condom. It could be deadly.
Now run along and play sweetheart. She is such a cute little girl, isn't she?
Sheesh...

Where is Gil Grissom ?
Has anyone else noticed that we get one these "teenager falls to death from hotel balcony stories" every winter/spring in New Jersey ?

I remember reading something about how a lot of people fall from balconies in, say, warm resort-type places, because the balcony walls are lower for some reason. You lean out too far and the rail doesn't come up high enough to stop you.
Throw a few tropical drinks into the mix, and it's even more likely to happen. Though I'm not saying that's what happened here, Hawaii probably has building codes similar to the other 49 states.
I'll tell you what nags at me though-- if anyone heard her scream, I haven't seen it reported. Most conscious people would scream.
On the other hand, if there were 500 highschoolers at the hotel, no one may have noticed an extra scream.

The article says that there was no evidence of sexual assault.

Ever think that maybe she got drunk, had sex with these guys,(she was 18,legal consent and all) and on sobering up or getting sick went to the balcony and either lost her balance or slipped over the edge?Teenage girls do have consensual sex at times, not all guys are muderers or rapist. If anyone has ever seen girls at spring break and what they will do away from home can understand, those that don't are naive.

Or maybe she felt repulsed at what she had done after heavy drinking and committed suicide. Maybe it was a pattern in her life. Who knows?
Very sad and tragic story.
