I don't suppose we will be hearing any of this on the cable networks.

That's exactly what was going through my mind as I watched the interview unfold. This was blockbuster stuff. Will the networks cover it? Will the NY Times give it 1/10th the inches it devoted to Kay's original "there are no WMDs" report? Somehow I doubt it.

No. Think of it this way: what candidates supported the war or voted in favor of action? Who would the Libs want to be able to "forgive" a vote if they can show he was misled (even to the point of saying Bush was also misled) to make that canadidate more palatable as the Dem Nominee?

Wow. What a great interview! When I saw that Kay was on I thought that it would be another I-got-the-goods-on-Bush tell all, but I was happily mistaken. Laur did a good job but it was evident that Kay was taking all the wind out of his sails. This should be broadcast against Dean, Edwards, Clark, and John Franken Kerry whenever they wet their pants over Iraq.

I agree that Kay was amazingly supportive of the Bush administration, but I must respectfully disagree that Lauer was out to get W and that Kay was "taking the wind out of his sails." I sensed a surprisingly supportive tone in the manner in which Matt framed his questions.

What I find interesting is that Saddam had the intention of developing WMDs, paid huge somes of money following his intention, and actually believed that he had them. I do think we are expecting a lot from our intelligence agency if we have the expectation of knowing more about the state of Iraq's WMD programs than Saddam himself.

I have been patiently pointing out for two days that in two different interviews that I know of, (NPR, then yesterday's Brokaw), Kay said what they found indicated Iraq was MORE of a threat than we thought before going in. I surmised due to terrorism when I heard it the first time, and indeed, that's what he pointed to, in part, in his Brokaw, and now Today interviews.

He's been saying it, it's been buried, and like you, I termed it a bombshell revelation.
