Terri Schiavo's Family Files Contempt Motion to Obtain Terri's Medical Info

Clearwater, FL (LifeNews.com) -- The family of Terri Schiavo, on Tuesday, filed a contempt of court motion against Terri's estranged husband Michael. They say he is once again withholding information from them concerning Terri's medical condition, in violation of a 1996 court order.

Last week, Terri began vomiting and Terri's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, asked nursing and hospice staff what had caused it and what measures were being taken to treat Terri.

Terri is currently living at Park Place Assisted Living Facility in Clearwater, Florida, and staff at the facility told the Schindlers that they were under orders from Michael's attorneys not to divulge any information.

That prompted family attorney Pat Anderson to file a contempt of court motion against Michael.

A 1996 judicial mandate by the Pinellas County Circuit Court requires Michael to provide Terri's family with current information concerning her medical condition and treatment.

"Michael Schiavo's flagrant violation of the simple and understandable terms of the 1996 order is deliberate and contumacious," the motion says. "Its harm to the Schindlers is continuing in nature, but they are not the only ones harmed."

The motion says the Schindlers are concerned for their daughter because the vomiting "could result in aspirational pneumonia, a life-threating condition for a patient such as Terri, especially if left untreated."

Mary Schindler said she is worried that the positioning of Terri's body during the tube feedings is a possible cause for the vomiting.

The 1996 court order required Michael to notify any future nursing home that provides care or medical services to Terri "that he has no objections to the nursing home discussing [Terri's] medical condition with Robert Schindler or Mary Schindler."

The order also required Michael to provide the Schindlers with any neurological reports and to inform them of any "significant changes" in Terri's medical condition.

Additionally, a court order in September of 2003 directed Michael to provide a discharge summary from Morton Plant Hospital to Terri's parents. He has yet to comply.

how does one ask a woman to marry you, while still being married to another woman, and a court has already judged the wife has a life expectancy of 45 MORE years, and yet have NO INTENTION of EVER getting a divorce?

Reminds me of Scott Peterson.

Peterson told his girlfriend Amber that he was a widower before Laci was killed.

These guys must have precognition. (/sarcasm)

Thanks for the reminder and don't worry. I'll will campaign AGAINST George Greer and I don't care if he's a GOP, Dem or FROM MARS.

I'd like to see him go earlier but any investigation of Greer would open up a can of worms with the medical community, Hospice, Sheriff Rice, State Attorney McCabe, the DCF, the police... It would be quicker to vote GREER out of office than to investigate all his baseball and golf buddies.

Further, people are being deposed in Schiavo v. Bush but the refusal to be deposed is by Michael and Jodi. (other depos have taken place by Jeb's legal counsel.)

Freeper ROBERT DROBOT is having surgery. Let's wish him well somewhere, like here.

The world's a stage you know and scolding Swope was just for show. The contempt hearing has been re-scheduled AGAIN for March 26th!!!

Here's a press release from terrisfight.org: Terri Schiavo's Parents Re-File Motion to Intervene in Terri's Law Case

http://www.lifenews.com/bio229.html

Terri's family has a monumental interest in defending the law helping their daughter, that the appeals court says should be respected. The court ordered Baird's ruling denying intervention to be reversed and sent the case back to him for "further proceedings."

Good morning, pegita -- I am gratefully joining you in that prayer. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

This is hard to bear. It is excrutiating to see simple, straightforward justice denied an innocent woman, unless it is put into the context of God's time, God's glory, and His desire for all to come to Him . . . fully, honestly, *not* just go-to-church-on-Sunday pseudo-faith Christianity. My fervent desire, even more 'since Terri', is to walk in His light, and stay far from the shadows and any evil. Though not always so obvious, in this case evil is quite ugly and abhorrent.

May God's hand be on the judges, lawyers, and anyone else with the ability to do good for Terri.

The Hemlock Society, now known as End of Life Choices, has been curiously quiet lately. Wonder what they're cooking up?

A Bucks County, Pennsylvania newspaper on July 2, 1997, reported Michael's mother's death, "survived by Michael and fiancee' Jodi" Centonze. There's no mention of his WIFE Terri. Was his mother's death hastened too?

I heard him admit on Larry King Live, that he had to "do it" to his mother (and his father), too. It's in the transcript.

Does George W. Greer run against himself, or will there be other candidates? He is "Republican," but does the party label appear on the FL ballot under the judgeships? Did you find out why Greer has been so popular there? Is it just name ID and small favors for this group and that group. Of course, the Schindlers have got "no small favors" from George W. Greer.

thanks for posting that info, it's unbelievable! I've seen it before and wondered what can be done for Terri, considering his blatant unfaithfulness, what can be done with that info?

"the refusal to be deposed is by Michael and Jodi"

Can they do that? Can't they be forced comply? Doesn't it seem more than a little odd that the HINO and his whore would refuse to give a deposition if it were really only about his wife's "right to die?"

Robert, I'm sorry to hear that you're having to have surgery. God be with you and bring you a speedy recovery.

"I'll will campaign AGAINST George Greer ..."

Do you know who will be running against him. Maybe we could ask him how he stands on the issue of Terri's case. If a judge isn't allowed to comment on on-going cases, maybe we could ask him how he feels about the rights of the disbaled, especially those who cannot speak for themselves.

So -- what to do? Stay informed, continue to send emails to gov et al, cards, what else do you all suggest?

I'm wondering if we could run a newspaper ad against Judge Greer, since this is a campaign year. I remember how effective the Freeper ad was in the Washington Times. I'll never forget the image of George Washington crying.

I think it was created by a Freeper who is no longer with us.

Thanks for pinging me. Every time you think there will be good news, that judge throws another monkey wrench into the proceedings. I hope Terri can continue to hang in there.
