Yeah, and just about every one of those teens have a cell phone. I recently read an article that it is past time for the Black kids to start wanting to learn. Some think that learning is too "White" and do not want to. How are they going to get good jobs if they do not know how to speak English and able to read. I can not remember a time when I was not an avid reader. I went to the dr. today and the nurse saw me reading a magazine and said, "I read that reading raises your IQ". Well, if that is the case, mine must be off the record!

That headline is dangerously close to "Bill Cosby is a right wing nut." He will lose all of his leftist brownie points after naming the twins on his show "Winnie and Nelson."

I wonder how the media will respond if "Dr. Huxtable" is perceived to be gettting close to steepping out off the plantation...Then again, imagine how Bill Cosby would respond if these remarks came from someone like Ann Coulter or David Horowitz.

Maybe that dude was Lawrence Goyut who faced off against Ken Hamblin on FNC during their noon news. I heard him say something like that. Hamblin of course agrees with Cosby.

He changed some. Before that his message was mainly anti drug. There was a situation where his daughter was busted or something and he came down hard on cutting off her money. He is a Dem but the guy has always been for family values

How could it have ANY coherent structure without the use of verbs?

Occasionally, this person managed to put an article in front of a noun (i.e., an article, instead of the and), spell some words correctly (or at least put letters together in such a way that I could find the resulting word in the dictionary), and even pull off a couple prepositional phrases. In other words, this person managed to put a few words together in such a way that they might make sense if they were put in the context of a sentence that necessarily would contain verbs. But that never happened.

The other day, I read about some fellow who'd written an entire book without using a single verb. I'm not sure how long it was, as the article didn't say. From what I understand, it didn't sell well, because the action was a bit slow.

Another fellow wrote a book without using any word that contained the letter "e". That must have been extraordinarily hard after a while.

Right ON! He has this right! If the African-American wants to advance he's got to join the main stream. This goes for poor white's in the hills of Alabama and Mexicans in El Paso too. You gots to learn English ifin' you wants ta git ahead in this here country.

My In-Laws have a black family as next-door neighbors, the kids have since grown up, moved out, married and had their own children, leaving the grandma there. I was chatting with a couple of the older siblings recently and they were whining about their children. They're well-off middle-class and have everything they could want. But the younger ones insist on adopting the mannerisms and speech of ghetto kids, and they try to hide their middle-class upbringing. This infuriates their parents. They say they didn't raise them right only to see them progress backwards. And they blame it on other blacks.

Catch me on a straight Tequila night,normally around Thanksgiving and/or Columbus day, and you might hear me say some really crude things about the conquest of Native American Indians.
One of my Grandmothers openly despised my brothers and myself, because our Mother was a "quarter-breed".
I am only 45 years old.
People tend to forget how truly pervasive and destructive racism was in our society.That's only partially a good thing.
It will take several more generations distance to really take the pain away.
We, as a society, have made great progress, but it is still a work in progress.I think it illogical to expect instant healing of still gaping open wounds.
Pretending to ignore the scars doesn't work for me,and all I am occasionally upset about is the Genocide and forceful conquest of half of my blood ancestors lands, and one "grandma's" distaste of my tainted blood while growing up a as a "white" child in the USA!
Grandma's long dead now.I never grieved for her.She was a spiteful, hateful woman who called loudly proclaimed herself a Christian, and I trust that God has disposed of her soul properly.
Just a bit of perspective to enable you to dimly understand how deep and long the scars of old racial hatred reach, if you are one of the hated ones.
Give it a few more generations.
You personally have no reason or need to apologize for anything your particular ancestors may or may not have done to anyone else.
It has nothing to do with you, and you yourself carry no racial guilt.
But until several more generations have lived and died,we will all feel the stings of the fruits of our ancestors.
That's just the way it is.

True, but even speaking gramatically correct English, using a southern accent - you will be labeled a half-wit. The same is true of someone "sounding black", even if there grammar is correct.
