This is true.
Another favorite scene of mine is the response Morris Day has when he sees the frat boys at the roadhouse. Precious moment.

You mean Otis Day? Morris Day was that tacky guy who was like a Prince-wannabe! :)
But yes, that whole scene in the roadhouse was a classic. "DO you mind if we dance wif yo' dates?"

Yeah. Morris "How's the family?" Day. Duh. I like Ice Cream Castles.
I like that movie, too.

Yep, he did some good work. I still remember dancing to "Jungle Love" and "The Bird" at parties back in college. :)
The movie was OK, I suppose....

It was light fare. Just another rock movie with a thin plot that had some good concert scenes. Morris was great. I liked him more than Prince because he was closer to R&B and soul than Prince ever could wish.
When I finally dropped that "too cool to dance" artiface was around the time "Jungle Love" was spun a lot. Listened to Kid Creole, as well. "Endicott" remains one of my favorites.

Yep, I liked Morris, but Prince did have some good stuff too.
Actually, I've long ago acquired the "too dorky to dance" syndrome!

I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully you can be cured.
I battle my "dork dancer" syndrome by being adventurous. I've even done merenge in the projects with Dominicans. Of course I was soused, but they said I did well for a first-timer.

He did this in Portland too. It is the Bhuddist bow you see all the monks do to welcome everyone. It really fashionable among the real liberal elitists.

It was a New Year's party with an entire family. That was difficult. I got by shuffling like an old man.
I need to find out if they're still doing those garage punk/mod/soul nights at this bar in the East Village. Been missing out on that for too long.

Hmm, I think I will. Should be interesting since it has been a while since I've seen a band.

Don't rub it in. I saw Belle and Sebastian and Interpol in May 2002. That was the last show I went to.
