I wish he wouldn't do this....
I think he'll be just fine. He's already jumped once today, and this will be a tandem jump because of the wind. I was worried before, but I'm not now.
Thanks for the new thread. Why did the last one get locked?
4 minutes till the jump.. ......so they say.
Am I the only one who thinks this is selfish on Bush 41 to be jumping out of an airplane two days after burying President Reagan? The last thing Bush 43 needs is to have his father get hurt or worse doing something that is inherently dangerous. I love Bush 41 but his timing is awful.
Yes. Bush should not make the jump for five years after Reagan dies. This would be the proper timing. I'm sure Reagan would be very upset with GHW Bush if he were still alive. (/sarcasm).
No, because I feel the same. He has the right to do as he pleases, and there may be a 95% chance everything will go just fine, but the fact remains that accepting even a 5% chance of disaster is somewhat selfish. It would not be a good thing for the country to have to go through another State Funeral this soon, IMHO.
My husband just said President Bush (41) is his inspiration ...to be 80 years old and in that good shape!
Gutsy thing to do on the 13th day of the month.
He'll probably be in just as much danger driving home tonight.
He's 80 years old. He can do what he wants. It's still a free country. I understand your concern. However, it may be selfish of YOU to think that 41 should be sitting at home in a rocking chair in quiet reflection on the passing of the 40th President, living in a plastic bubble to spare YOU the inevitable grief of another state funeral. It's HIS life. There is nothing wrong with celebrating life, celebrating 80 good years on this earth in a manner of his own choosing. I think President Reagan is smiling down and would be proud.
