The left is going insane as we arrest suspect terrorists in our own country now!

Corzine, Kennedy, Leahy and assorted other enemies of America introduced legislation yesterday to void sections of the patriot act and stop deporting immigrants who violate some american laws.

I find it amusing that the people who complain about the Patriot Act are the same ones who complain that the government can't shoot down civilian airplanes at will.

These pathetic "commissioners" couldn't find their asses with both hands. What a disgusting gang of losers.

Armed or not. American Airliners operating inside the country were not on the list of threats that day.

"NORAD existed to protect us from a foreign military air strike. "

That is not quite true. One of their tasks is also to intercept in case of emergency. They regularly train to intercept in case of hijackings. Routine procdures failed on 9/11.

This report suggests that Flight 93 was hit by a missile, several miles away from the crash scene.

[Excerpt]
The Pennsylvania state police said debris from the crash has shown up about 8 miles away in a residential area where local media quoted some residents as seeing flaming debris from the sky.

And with the pilot dead and the terrorists at the wheel what would intercepting the plane have done. The flight was doomed from the moment the terrorists entered the cockpit. The F-18's could not have done anything that the passengers themselves didn't do, which was to take the plane down where it wouldn't do any collateral damage.

The 911 commission is a joke.

I've never sought public office because I felt I wasn't smart enough. It is increasingly clear that I had it back wards.

It would seem that having 20/20 hindsight and being able to jump in front of a parade are the only necessary qualities. Oh, and a lack of any sense of shame wouldn't hurt either.

You got that right!

9/11 commission 'Bush should have preempted 9/11 based on the intel we had in the PDB 8-6-01'

News media since 1/1/04: 'Bush should NOT have preemptively attacked Iraq based on the intel we had'

When are the sheep in this country going to wake up and realize that with Bush we have a LEADER not a pollster

Interception of a hijacked plane on 9/10 is not the same as 9/11. Airliners were traditional hijacked for ransom or some other demand and flown over great distances. On 9/11 they took off and crashed into buildings. So the scenario is different due to the intent of the hijacker.

The commission staff said Sept. 11 mastermind Khalid Shaikh Mohammed initially outlined an attack involving 10 aircraft targeting both U.S. coasts.

So why didn't he use 10?Why weren't 10 buildings destroyed or damaged?I'm betting that if he could have gotten 10 planes,he would have.Sounds like the current administration kept 6 out of 10 planes from being hijacked, either directly or indirectly. We need to point this fact out. It's no less possible than what this "commission" is trying to say.

Thanks President Bush for saving countless lives due to the fact that 6 planes could not be or were not hijacked.

I can spin too : )

I've long believed that the FBI failed to properly investigate what didn't happened on 9/11. Four planes crashed but we don't know how many didn't.

It just seems so unlikely that 100% of the teams punched in on time and completed their missions with out a hitch. Try leaving BOS< NYC & DCA the day of the meeting and have everyone get to the same meeting on time. Each additional departure reduces that odds of 100% significantly.

So, my thesis is that there were actually 6 or 7 (or "x") planes ready to be seized but that not all, only 4, were captured. What about the kerrorists who were supposed to seize a plane at a central US city, ORD or STL? Did the FBI review those security tapes, identify the passengers who didn't show up at the last minute and so on? The FBI of Lou Freeh and Janet Reno, my bet is, certainly didn't do so.

I think the staff reports come out 1st, then the commission discusses them, and comes out with their report.

That would be hilarious if it were not true. Anyone believing in the honesty and intregrity of this commission should contact me. I have a beautiful bridge that I want to sell.

Can anyone here imagine what would have been said by Demoncrats and the lamestream press if Bush had authorized the shooting down of an airliner over a sparsely inhabited portion of Western Pennsylvania?

Yes, I can well imagine. They would have argued that we didn't KNOW that plane was going to be used as a missile just because the others had been and the entire focus and mantra would be "we shot down our own people". They would have said such a reaction was too hasty.

MSNBC is showing the hearing. The commission fancies themselves prosecutors of the administration. Right this minute Jamie Gorelick is grilling General Myers. She says she is "just asking" questions, but they are framed in an accusatory manner. They are discussing this very issue.

MSNBC leaves their coverage. Just as well, I have better things than to watch that travesty.

Short of blasting any of those planes out of the sky, there was NO WAY those planes could have been stopped! Those lunatics were out to die that day and take as many people with them as possible!

Stop stop...

At the very moment the airplanes shut down the transponders and left their planned routes and stopped communications, roules for an emergency would have applied. At that time it was not known that the planes later would crash into a building.

At first, these were hijackings and should have been treated as such.
