This makes the woman the non-custodial parent of five children... To make the story even worse, she was pregnant with five babies and had one aborted to give the others a better chance of survival.

How clever to call him an anti-gay minister. Not pro-family... because who has the right to define family?
Not a pro-morality preacher, because who has the right to define morality?
Nope, he cannot be for something good and wholesome - he must be a mean-spirited anti-gay minister.

This whole situation has just turned my stomach from the very beginning. And didn't the news media turn the birth of these quadruplets into a "celebration" of how "gay relationships" were equal to "married" parents.

After a surrogate mother gave birth, Michael Meehan and his partner Thomas Dysarz became the first gay couple ever to have quadruplets. Michael Meehan, left, and his partner Thomas Dysarz hold their four new babies, who were born to a surrogate mother. (Good Morning America)

Gay Dads Delighted Over New Quadruplets

"I was like, 'Oh, Lord, help us!' I was a little nervous," Dysarz said on ABCNEWS' Good Morning America. "I was excited — I come from a large family of seven myself, a good Catholic family, and I was just excited."

While the children are innocent victims of these circumstances and are definitely entitled to a Catholic Baptism, the Catholic Church normally "blesses" the parents. In this case, that meant blessing two gay men. The priest should have stopped at the Baptism but in confusion, he did bless the two gay men.

Doubtful this story will make Good Morning America tomorrow.

Happy Father's Day!

Catholic Ping - let me know if you want on/off this list

"Rally for a Hate-Free Lexington."

How could they rationally believe that ridding Lexington of all DemocRats is possible?

He IS an anti-gay minister.

He held demonstrations (such as they were) at Reagan's funeral, with signs that said "Reagan in hell," because Reagan began funding for AIDS and had a couple of gays in his administration.

Phelps is a faux-minister who hides behind religion to propagate hate.

NYer, like you we have have serious problems since the very beginnings of the Diocese of Lexington. After the forced departure of our pastor about five years ago, we have had three "notorious" priest in a row, including the current one, how doubles as the "Vocations Director". Our new bishop need to wake up and smell the coffee. If you think thing are bad in Albany - read this: http://www.geocities.com/gaydiocese/AWAKE.HTML

...Oh, I see, there was a birth mother involved. I'm just wicked enough that I was about to ask which of these boys was the mother, and how he delivered the quads, C-section or anal.

As an more serious aside, I think Phelps was at the very least misguided in protesting the baptism. It's not the quads' fault they were born into this mess, and they're going to need all the help they can get from the Big Fella Upstairs.

You know, maybe the fairies have something here. I remember trying to pick up some young girls with a clever line and being shut down almost every time.

Imagine going up to good looking left wing honeys (that'll probably need a bath) in Boston or San Fran with a line like, "You look like a sensitive and understanding female. My male partner and I are each going to have a baby with a surrogate mother and, since I've never been with a woman before, I wonder if you'd show me how it's done so I don't look foolish when it's time."

This will be an interesting story to follow because neither guy will want the baggage of even one baby while prowling for his next deviant. There will be custody issues and, most importantly, child support issues.

"Lexington attorney Michael Meehan declined to comment yesterday on Fayette Circuit Family Court Judge Kim Bunnell's decision earlier this month to reject his petition for a domestic violence order against his former partner Thomas Dysarz."

I think statistics will bear out that Gay men do NOT stay together for long periods of time. There are exceptions. I happen to know a gay couple who have been together for over 40 years. However, lesbians DO stay together. It's interesting.

If memory serves, five percent of gay men are in long-term relationships (20 years or more, I can't remember what the study said). This compares with heterosexuals, half of whom are in relationships of similar longevity.

I also know gay men who are in monogamous long-term relationships. One couple I know has little to do with 'mainstream' gay culture, because it is so unhealthy. They are very quiet and circumspect. (I've known them since grad school, 20 years.) Of course, I have trouble reconciling my understanding of the Scriptures with my friends' lifestyle, but I am willing to let them make their own moral choice -- we will all stand before God in the end.

Anyway, there's an old joke: Q: What do gay men bring to a second date? A: What second date! Q: What do lesbians bring to a second date? A: A U-Haul.

Happy Father's Day!

Thank you.

It was a big day in our family as our daughter and son-in-law just brought home their seven month old twins from Guatemala! We met them at the airport last night. Rosemary Therese and Charles Joseph are the best Father's Day present this Grandpop ever had.

When I think of all the children the world over who need loving families, the action of these two monkeys is particularly disgusting.

Mike and Thom broke up? No! I was just SURE these two kids would make it together. Can't we depend on anything anymore?
