DICK CHENEY/Bill Jones in Riverside: "Support Our Troops" rally on TUESDAY (7/27) - 5pm ^ | July 27, 2004 | RonDog [and FRiends]

after action FReep report

"Support Our Troops" rally
to welcome Vice President
DICK CHENEY
outside a fundraiser for
BILL JONES
(to replace Barbara BOXER in the U.S. Senate)
at the
Mission Inn in Riverside
on
TUESDAY, July 27
This FReep started out for ME with a call on my cell phone from Andrea (with the Riverside College Republicans) at about 4 pm.
I was stuck in traffic on the 91 freeway, as it turns out, still about an hour away.
She said that there were already over FIFTY Bush-Cheney supporters in place, but that the TEN or so "bad guys" were attempting to disrupt their rally, and she wanted to know what to do.
This was her first FReep as an ORGANIZER, and she was concerned.
(to be continued...)

For those who may suspect a liberal BIAS in the mainstraem media...
...note that at this stage in the rally, the "good guys" apparently outnumbered the "bad guys" at LEAST six to one...
...so they had to put one of the lone Kerry supporters in the FORE-ground, and the Bush-Cheney folks in the BACK-ground.

MORE photos (from OUR guys) to follow, soon - I hope.
Until then, here are a few more from Associated Press (via Yahoo! NEWS):

I'm glad Cheney got some support out there. The photo is typical. We had about 250 people out to support Bush one weekend. On the other side of the street were about 15 idiots banging drums and tamborines. They were featured in the coverage on the local television station without a single one of our folks showing up on camera. And so it goes...

Bias? What bias. LOL

The Kerry sign dominates the picture. No bias there.

Is it just me, or do the Flipper signs not say

"John Kerry for President"...

...but...

"John Kerry President" (as if he already were so)

Well, the media seems to think that he is...

For those who may suspect a liberal BIAS in the mainstream media - Part TWO...
Note how the Associated Press writer cleverly co-mingles the MANY Bush-Cheney supporters with the FEW (initially) Kerry supporters, in THIS short excerpt from the San Francisco Chronicle:
"...Cheney portrayed Boxer as out of touch with Californians and told the crowd of about 200 people at the $1,000-per-plate dinner that Jones was in lockstep with President Bush on issues of national security, the economy and tax reform.

Protesters could be heard chanting outside the Mission Inn's stained-glass windows during the vice president's 20-minute remarks.

Several hundred protesters and Bush supporters gathered hours before the event and faced off on opposite street corners..."

Looks that way to me. I suspect it's their last hurrah, since that's about as close as he's going to get hopefully.

Is there a Cheney rally tomorrow at Ontario??
I think that the Ontario event was originally scheduled for earlier TODAY.

From a pre-FReep thread:

To: RonDog

Looks like plans changed a little. My information was:
Riverside rally at 3:30 or 3:45.

I drove out to Ontario today, but the rally there was
canceled. Apparently Cheney got right into his motorcade
and left for Riverside -- I heard there was a security
concern at Ontario. True?

Does anyone know? And how was the Riverside event?

We should EVENTUALLY get some more precise numbers from the folks who got there EARLY, but it appears that the FReep timeline went something like THIS:
4:00 pm - 40-50 "good guys" - 5-10 "bad guys"
(Vice President Cheney arrives, the media go indside.)
5:00 pm - 50-60 "good guys" - 75-100 "bad guys"
(RonDog finally arrives.)
5:30 pm - 75 "good guys" - 200 "bad guys" - who begin to overrun our position
(We "declare victory" and fall back to a nearby McDonald's.)

I wonder if it ever occurs to the lamestream media that this treatment might p*ss a lot of people off?

I just wonder what the general public thinks. The media shows no support for conservative candidates, yet they still win the most seats of power. Doesn't anyone wonder how that happens? Well yes, the left claims Bush lost. I wonder why...

What shocks me more than what they print, is what they refuse to print. Let me guess:

If Condi was caught hiding secret documents in her panties, the media wouldn't cover it? Of course they would, but perhaps they'd give the excuse that panites are different than boxers... A different situation entirely... /s

They refused to report the UN's oil for food scandal, Kerry's Swift Boat vets have only 3 for him and 26 against! HE left the men under his command after 4 months - left them high and dry.

TuRAYzuh DID say "un-American" traits and it is on video tape...

But the media ignores.
