All these years I've owned an assault rifle and never managed to kill anything other than a target. However...show me a islamic extremist and I'll show you where the grey matter called a brain, was supposed to be from 300 yards.

But... but... if the AWB ban ends, we'll have thousands of terrorists coming to the U.S. to by overpriced semi-auto versions of full auto weapons they can buy at home for a quarter of the price! Sarah Brady and John Kerry have said so!

In a way I am sad the ban is expiring. A few months before the ban went into effect I bought an AKS (a semi-auto AK-47) for $600. A few weeks before the ban was in place, the shop where I bought the rifle was selling them for around $3000. I almost went and sold it back, but was afraid that the ban would last forever. Drat--I should have just bought 2 of them. LOL.

Seriously, the death of the ban is a great thing and is long overdue.

I was one of those. GWB did the same thing with CFR, and the House and Senate failed us... and GWB was true to his word, and violated his oath of office. There was no reason to believe it couldn't happen again... and there's also no reason to give GWB any credit for this sunset... but I'll be happily buying a few choice items on Tuesday.

Everyone should also keep in mind that the stupid AWB was in effect when all the school shootings happened. The AWB did nothing to stop the killers of Columbine from killing other students. The AWB is nothing but liberal feel-goodism, and even some die-hard gun-grabbers admitted that it wouldn't make a dent in crime shortly after Xlinton signed it.

Just heard this on CBS, John Kerry will actively support and campaign for a unilateral ban on spitballs and the weapons that launch them.

UPDATE: Candidate Kerry now states he will not support any ban on spitballs or their launchers.
