www.freerepublic.com ^ | Howlin

Posted on 09/13/2004 2:41:52 PM PDT by sonofatpatcher2

Howlin started a Live Thread September 10, 2004 to see what Dan would say. He told us his report was the facts and nothing but the facts.

Well, it is now Monday, the 13th. What will Dan say today?

"Proving it is "possible" Killian typed originals that became these copies still would not prove that he did. "

Right, but proving he didn't is easier, especially if the type and paper don't match. As cBS' own signature analysis guy says on his website, you can use a copy to prove the docs are forgeries, but you can't use a copy to prove the docs are genuine.

So you must have the originals to prove the docs are real.

And even at that,he's still ignoring all the other contradictory factors, like Hodges,Killian's widow and son,Stuadt being gone for 18 months.

And they keep ignoring that there was no long waiting list to enter the ANG as an officer pilot,so President Bush wouldn't have needed to get help to enter.

I heard Mr. Staudt is still alive. Why hasn't he come out of hiding?

I saw on another thread that he's 84 years old and doesn't do interviews. It didn't say anything about the state of his health.

I'm still wondering what the hell your problem is; if you're up to speed with what's over at blogsforbush.com, LGF, talonnews.com and PowerLine et al you don't know any more than I do ...

I can just see my dad doing that when he had staff duty......NOT!!!!

He would have picked up the typewriter....driven to Benning....gone up the 34 foot tower.....sling loaded the typewriter to the slide line......and laughed as his went down the line and smashed into the end of the line.

Pajama People. Priceless. I love Randy Newman's songs. And I'm short.

Thanks for the clarification, mrsme1. I was wondering if Dan's daughter was a producer at CBS or something. I didnt know she was an operative for DNC, so your speculation makes some sense. Interesting possibility. Wonder if there is any way to research or verify it?

Isnt that fascinating about the Barne's daughter ratting out her dad? Wonder why she would do that? Amazing. Glad she did, but still amazing.

Blathers defense of his forged documents has a deja vu quality. It sounds like one of the early Perry Mason episodes with Hamilton Burger and the select-ball typewriters. Truth parroting fiction or a deliberate game plan?

Expert says this was all possible then.

Then re-create it with a typewriter, Dan!

PROVE IT!

O'Reilly just now practically swore that there's no way Rather would ever use forged documents on the air AGAIN.

What he implied was that the technology was available at that time in HISTORY.

Only it wasn't. The closest anyone's been able to track down is the IBM Selectric Composer, which was proportional (but with only 4 possible widths) and obviously no kerning. An IBM guy called Howie Carr today and said he was an IBM salesman back in the 70s, and the Composer wasn't used in offices; the market was small print shops. Also, unless they want a suit on their hands, they weren't using Times Roman, because it wasn't licensed to IBM.

his work for IBM those "13 years in the 70s.")

I know the 70's was a long decade but 13 years is something. That alone convinces me the guy's a liar or an embellisher.

Here's a stupid question. Is there nobody anywhere that can investigate what kind of typewriters the TANG used in the early 70's? Is there any way to determine whether the PO box is legit? It would seem to be these two facts would drive the final nail into CBS and Rather's coffin.

If the Air Force (or worse, the Air National Guard) was ordering $10-20K typewriters back in the 70's, I think we need answere to worse problems than Bush not showing up for a physical...

Yeah, this is real tough in MS Word:
111th
111th
111th
111th
111th
111th
111th

About five seconds to delete the spaces between the numeral and the superscript. Like forgers wouldn't take the time. Puh-lease.

You don't know how glad I am to read your post. Wheteher CBS recants or not,I think that all that matters right now is that the general public sees this for what it is. I hope that most everyday Americans,no matter what their political
persuasion, would be offended by such low tactics and lies as these.

Maybe President Bush will even get a few sympathy votes, because Americans don't like dirty players. A vote is a vote!

From the other thread

Dan Rather just finished his report on CBS' stand regarding the questionable authenticity of documents on President Bush's service in the Air National Guard. More 'non-partisan experts' were brought forward to refute the claims made those of us in the blogsphere.

DAN IS TOAST

How long can SeeBS just keep lying?

FEC, Justice Dept, Who can end this?

Anyone know?
