"RamseyGate"-- it just won't stop...

Looks like the American Spectator got the story straighter than the Tuscon paper:

As the late Rod Serling might have said, meet Deb Frisch, a psychologist and ( former ) adjunct professor at the University of Arizona.

I need to frisch myself

The Definition of Frisch, from Froggy at Blackfive:
To Frisch: Writing something on the internet so creepy and offensive that you are forced to quit your job before getting canned. Ex. Deb really frisched herself when she threatened that blogger's 2 year old child with death and sexual molestation.

Since Protein Wisdom (one of my favorite blogs) is having stability problems thanks to hacker attacks by Frisch supporters, check out BlackFive for background on this kerfluffle that's sweeping the blogosphere.

http://oharafactor.blogspot.com/2006/07/frisch-responds-to-my-criticism.html

Frisch responds to my criticism

Former UA psychology professor Deborah Frisch has responded to a critical comment I made on one of her posts.

Update: Okay, perhaps Goldstein isn't so unamused.

Update 2: The Arizona Daily Star has picked up on the story. This story thankfully looks more objective than the Inside Higher Ed article, which received much criticism from the right, including from Goldstein himself (see previous posts).

The Frisch attack on Goldstein - the latest news, along with other misc. blog notes

Here’s a refresher on what happened last week when a University of Arizona professor viciously attacked blogger Jeff Goldstein and his two year old son. If his site isn’t down from another Denial of Service attack, you should be able to read it.

Today, Jeff responded to an Inside Higher Ed piece that distorted what was actually said and made Frisch look a lot less nutty than she actually was and made conservative bloggers look like vicious cut throats. Anyone who has kept a close eye on the back and forth between Goldstein and Frisch knows that he’s actually shown remarkable restraint over the matter, all things considered. What he hasn’t done, that the Higher Ed piece seems to wish he had, was let Frisch off the hook. She posted some of the nastiest, vile things I’ve ever seen posted towards a blogger and their children and quite frankly did not deserve to be let off the hook.

This unfortunate incident has spurred a renewed debate in the blogosphere about blogger ethics. ST reader Dana R. Pico examines CyberJournalist.net’s Blogger Code of Ethics, and finds it lacking - in turn, he suggests a few of his own to add to the list to make it a bit more comprehensive.

Related: Patterico takes note of a prominent liberal blogger who has defended Frisch and slammed Goldstein. I wish I could say I was amazed at the lack of significant liberal condemnation (with a couple of exceptions) from the higher ups on the left hand side of the blogosphere over Frisch’s harassment of Goldstein but, sadly, I’m not.

Now, let us return to our regular coverage of the blogosphere, hopefully leaving Kooky Doctor Deb in the dustbin of history...

I strongly suspected Dr. Deb's claims of taking a hiatus were as fraudulent as her apologies:

The moonbat who threatened Jeff Goldstein and his child over at Protein Wisdom, has been digging steadily deeper at her own website, debfrisch.com. She has laughably been thrashing back and forth on whether she would continue blogging, claiming lack of bandwidth, or a sudden infusion of prudence, only to start up again.

As of this writing, she is allowing comments. Anyone care to advise her?

Josh Marshall BDS in Time Magazine

Here’s a wonderful development, as “progressive” blogger Joshua Micah Marshall writes a piece for TIME magazine accusing the Bush administration of staging terror alerts to boost GOP poll numbers: Toying With Terror Alerts?

Does Marshall have even one tiny shred of evidence for this accusation? Of course not!  No need to quote any more from this one; we’ve all seen this viewpoint expressed many times in the loony left blogosphere. Why is this “wonderful?” Because the more Americans who see how people like Marshall think, the better. link: 125 comments  Fascism, Nazism and Communism all spring forth from the same well.

That is just sick. Do they really beleive that if "Israel" just went away, the whole world would be a happy blissful place?

Inspired by the progressive Daily Koz

Imagine there's no Israel
It's easy if you try
No Jews around us
Why can't they all just die
Imagine all the Hebrews
Pushed into the sea...

Imagine there's no America
It isn't hard to do
No right-wing freedoms
And no Bushies too
Imagine all the hippies
Living life in dhimmi...

CHORUS:
You may say I'm a schemer
But I'm for progress of mankind
Life could be so much simpler
If some people would just die

Imagine no possesions
Communism can....
Nobody has to be workin'
In a big collective of man
We'll satisfy our needs
By stealing all the wealth...

CHORUS:
You may say I'm a schemer
But I'm for progress of mankind
Life could be so much simpler
If some people would just die

The Pentagon Attack Simulation

Maybe this video, one of the most amazing computer simulations I’ve ever seen, will finally convince the Truthers (aka, 9/11 conspiracy rubes) that American Airlines Flight 77 really did deliberately plunge into the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, carrying 53 passengers and six crew members, piloted by five Islamic terrorists from Saudi Arabia screaming “Allahu Akbar!” in the cockpit.

It’s a clinical presentation, but absolutely horrifying if you allow yourself to imagine what the passengers experienced as the plane flew only feet off the ground, snapping lamp poles in its final approach.

UPDATE at 7/15/06 7:21:09 pm:

Here’s a PDF file containing statements from numerous witnesses: They Saw the Plane.

UPDATE at 7/15/06 8:15:42 pm:

Here’s a detailed, frame by frame refutation of Dylan Avery’s despicable Loose Change video: Screw Loose Change.

I saw this video when it first cropped up on the Web about a week ago. It was stellar. I give it an A+.

But it's absurd that we even have to debunk these delusional conspiracy theorists. They should be relegated to the lunatic fringe of society, but the LLL3unatic fringe has now become the mainstream.

DANIEL GLOVER WRITES on the courtship of conservative bloggers by the Republican establishment. His warnings are apt, I think.

I wasn't invited, which I guess demonstrates that the Republican establishment has figured out that I'm not a conservative. Could I be a Liberty Owl? Hmm.

Well, if I could wave a magic wand, I'd make him

1)- a Jew
2)- a woman
3)- a citizen of the most oppressive Moslem country on Earth.

This is similar to my idea of forcing all the Leftards who worship Castro to live as Cuban peasants...

It's interesting to see that tables turning; the MSM is now getting it's news from the blogs.  It appears that the revolution will be televised after all--courtesy of the blogosphere.

Drudge is even getting scooped. Last Sunday Katie Couric's "Listening Tour" stop at the Televsion Critic's Association meeting was covered by several newsies with their own blogs. Drudge teased the story and the tease was posted here.

However, TV Newser linked up all the blogs and their comments were online before Drudge did the story.

The communications lines become shorter and shorter. I'll be posting an LA Time story shortly talking about the paranoia level in Hollywood...

Ping me to it- and thanks for the comments. It's fascinating to observe.

The impression I get of the Drive By Media attempting to get a handle on blogs ( and only because everybody's talking about it, the phenomenon has been around in one form or another for years ) is that

1)- it's got something to do with the internet
2)- it's eating their lunch, with speed, and fact-checking
3)- they don't like it much.

And they don't seem to have a clue.

Fake But Accurate But Nonexistent

Here’s an astounding mainstream media deception uncovered by Eric at Classical Values, who noticed a host of quotes attributed to “George Harleigh,” an SIU political science professor who supposedly worked for the Nixon and Reagan administrations and is now very anti-Bush—a political science professor who appears to be completely nonexistent: Where’s George? And where’s Doug?  | link: 121 comments |

Stephen Glass, Jason Blair, Burkett/Rather/Mapes, Leopold, sock puppetry by Greenwald and Hitzick, and now this guy.

Guys, If you have to lie to promote your cause, consider the possibility that you cause may not be worth promoting.

As one might expect, the most illuminating (and hilarious) discussion on that subject is at Jeff Goldstein's.

I found the guy - Greg Packer.

He's not just another face in the crowd at concerts, book signings, and sporting events. Somehow, over the course of 10 years, one man has managed to become the media's go-to guy, quoted more than 100 times in various publications, including several prominent newspapers. Greg Packer is the "man on the street."

• Lucy Rameriz - Tang Memos, vanished no trace
• Terrance J. Wilkinson - Niger Uranium bogus claim (interestingly this story contained forgeries too), vanished no trace
• George Harleigh - GOPer John Dean type - no trace
hmmm...am I missing any?
