Because the military doesn't want that mission. Guarding a border against illegals is a police function, not a military one. First, it would tie up vast numbers of troops to watch a long border. Second, it would take away their edge for battle and fighting -- if you're watching the border, you can't be training or fighting. Third, it would expose them to corruption. How long would it take for smugglers of both drugs and illegals to begin bribing bored privates? Privates don't make that much money. Cops make better money and still face great problems dealing with bribes. To guard a border that size AND keep up a military around the world fighting the terrorists would require a draft. Now, imagine bored draftees on the border being offered drug bribes. Not a pretty picture. I can't think of a better way to change the US Army back into the mess it was in the mid-70's than to give it the mission of policing the border. Bush isn't stupid. He's not going to waste the military on border guard duty.

This is an example of the PC ruination of our country - I am still waiting for somebody to tell me WHY I should have to chose between English and Espanol when I insert my ATM card - how come English is not the default choice?? I am talking about an area where less than 5% of the population is Hispanic; I assume this is B of A's "diversity" work, just like their commercials.

President McCain would never have had the courage to go into Iraq.

That's an interesting take. I guess I don't know, he certainly has a loud bark.

Well he's openly biased. He's liberal on just about every issue and makes no bones about it. He's not mean spirited though like others can be.

I'm really curious about their 25-yr friendship too .. I'm confident they do not run in the same circles.

I don't think BOR does the kind of sports Kerry does .. the two of them have nothing in common.

"last week"

Which means that the attacks were in the planning stages and the President was not about to comment on them.

Here in MA we have illegal Brazilians, for heaven's sakes, besides thousands of assorted Hispanics of one nation or another.

One of the great historical frauds is that every immigrant in the 1840-1920 era came through Ellis Island in an orderly way. HA! Millions came over on ships into Boston, Chicago, Frisco or Manhattan Ports with a huge trafficking debt to pay and a note where to get a hold of some guy "who'll set you up."

The role of the government:(Short definition)
Pave the roads,
deliver the mail,
collect the taxes,
defend the shores.
The only one they can do with any certainty is the third one.

You want the US Military searching your car at the border?

Yes. So who has a problem with that?

Actually there is a reason for the Spanish language choice on most ATM's today. Back in the early 1990's (I worked for Bank of America back then)there was a study that was produced forecasting the demographics of the nationalities in the U.S. I don't remember the exact details but sometime after the year 2000, the Hispanic population in the U.S. was forecast to reach 25% of the U.S. Population. It was further noted that the Hispanic population in the U.S. would continue to increase faster than any other nationality, since most are anti abortion and anti birth control (devout Catholics).

Hmm; a red/orange color. A friend here this evening say she must do a 'chemo/creme' of some sort to take care of pre-cancer on face. Said she would look like a 'salmon' in a couple of weeks' - but a younger one.

Perhaps, this is an adjunct treatment that Kerry has decided to try; as he continues his search for the person he needs to fill the suit he wears.

"Couldn't you just see Kerry chopping wood???"

I can see TaRaZa chopping wood before I would Kerry. Chopping wood for John Kerry is eating with Chop Sticks

OK, your bloodbath is realized, the borders are sealed in your mind. We have, in MY estimate, 7 million or so illegally resident aliens. How do we find and shoot them?
