The American Left has become increasingly hysterical since September 11. The symptoms of a new, disturbing extremism are manifest in a variety of forums that transcend legitimate political opposition to the war or grassroots politicking to vote out an incumbent party. Last year the comedian Rick Hall played to full houses abroad, performing his newest composition, Let's Get Together And Kill George Bush. As the Republicans assembled for their August national convention in New York, a pacifist group known as United For Peace and Justice, nevertheless announced its sponsorship of a rather violent-sounding, off-Broadway guerilla comedy entitled, Im Gonna Kill the President.
The 2002 winner of the National Book Critics Circle Award, Nicholson Baker, just published Checkpoint. It is an extended dialogue about killing (in a variety of strange ways) George Bush. Jay, the protagonist of the novel, characterizes the potential targeted President as a drunken oilman. Vice President Cheney and Defense Secretary Rumsfeld are portrayed as bog creatures with grubs scurrying out of their noses. Such venom filters down. Sue Niederer, the mother of a soldier recently killed in Iraq, recently scoffed in an interview: I think if I had him in front of me I would shoot him in the groined area. Let him suffer. And just continue shooting him there.

FYI
Why are these people running around free?
remember when freeper grassontop got busted by secret service for saying something innocuous about Toon?
Every time I think I could not conceivably despise the left any more ... I do.
The publishers of the books and the producers of the plays should be jailed, next to the authors.
Yes I do. I hope they are paying a visit to these dangerous lunatics.
I hope Santa is keeping a list and checking it twice...
The woman is sick.
They are becoming increasingly irrational. They weren't even this whacked out about Reagan, much as they hated him. I think in their desperation they realize that their hold on America is slipping away, and the thought of it is more than they can bear. Just looking at the situation objectively, it is difficult to understand how Bush's policies could inflame them so much. Disagreement is one thing, but this is insanity. And it seems to be contagious.
well maybe the fed are reading this ...... and will take steps .... it is the law ... when some threatens you know who .... the you know who have to investigate... Have TO...
by the way Mohammad who wrote me an email said i will burn in hell for calling islam a cult....... so much for diversity...
We are headed for a violent impasse, folks.
I saw this creature on the news and immediately lost any respect or pity for her for losing her son. She is a sub-human animal.
When are one of these people going to become deranged enough to make an attempt on the life of GWB? I'm expecting it to happen. I hope the Secret Service and the FBI are on top of this, especially during the debates. GWB will far too exposed during the debates for my comfort. If we lose GWB, America's enemies will be vastly emboldened. He is critical to the success of the war on terror.
And what should the response of conservative people be when the loony-left finally caves in it to its violent impulses?
Unfortunately, with the media looking the other way as to the psychosis of these freaks, the normal people will be the bad guys and these vermin will be the heroes.

Sweet merciful crap! That many titles?! And have any of them made any profit for the publisher? Well, let's look at the silver lining. Ever since the bubble economy popped I've been hearing about the depression in the ad business. What with all these 527's and campaign ad buys they must be undergoing a rennaissance of sorts.
You are exactly right. The aging hippies are trying to relive their youth. The infantile freaks of today are trying to recreate it, thinking they will have their own Hendrix and Beatles and Woodstock and free ass and drugs around every corner. Hollywood has spent 35 years glorifying the 60's and these diaperenes think it is their brithright to have one of their own.
