(I apologize for my "rant", but I felt it needed to be said after reading all the negative posts here tonite. Thanks !)

No need to apologize .. You nailed it

I just have one thing to add .. Before the debate while the President was meeting with the people of Florida and dealing with the possible anthrax attack

John Kerry was having a manicure

There was a commie named Kerry
Whose face was made up like a fairy
He said he would win while polls said with a din
You might if the Lord don't tarry.

"President Bush did not get BULLDOZED in the debate. He held his own against repeated negative attacks from John Kerry.

I agree. The President showed incredible self-restraint and avoided some traps, like the question about Kerry's character."

I also agree. Bush handled that question very well. Bush turned it into a warm and fuzzy about what he liked about Kerry and how nice his daughters were. He really turned it around well and showed his warm and homey side in a very tough debate.

Leher asking that question as well as the "hackles" comment was shameful. Jim showed his bias tonight for sure.

"How many lives did the Clinton presidency cost?"

How many were killed in the planes crashes that the terrorists flew into the WTC, Pentagon, Pennsylvania, and in the planes themselves? How many in the militaries who fought in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iraq were killed in action and by friendly fire? That's how many Klintoon killed!!!

Ya meen he flip-flops too? So that's who Kerry got his talking points from.

Actually, I got that line from the 80s Robin Hood BBC series, which my wife is a fan of. friar Tuck says it while they're dealing with a cult of devil worshippers who are ravaging the nearby villages.

I'd presume that the Devil can't make a binding contract because he is by definition unable to agree in good faith, no pun intended.

This is a time for those of us who believe in prayer to pour our hearts out for the future of this country.

Prayer is agreeing with God, knowing and asking him to preform his will on earth. God is good. He is a defender of innocent babies. He is the judge of the wicked who kill innocent people and rejoice. He made one man for one woman, together for life, until death do them part. He is angry at the wicked everyday. There are many, many issues that the democrats displease the LORD God Almighty greatly. We must trust him and ask him to do his perfect will concerning this great nation he has given us and concerning we the citizens thereof. We must give him free riegn to do what he knows is best and expect great things.

Well said!

I concur about the fake anthrax attack. The dems have no scruples when it comes to winning. They will do and say anything.

Bush is a very special president and man. He shoulders his responsibility with dignity and courage and I believe he was a bit tired.

But, Kerry had nothing to take advantage of it and did not win on substance. He was a stylish smart ass who said nothing and even lied a bit.

Let's get those untrue statements and BS out in the press for the rest of the week.

Not to defend Kerry, but the guy he did during his silver star incident was a real VC with a real rocket launcher, even the Swiftees say so.

When we talk about Vietnam, we need to keep the focus on the anti-war stuff, the other stuff (other than a few choice bits like the Sampan incident and Cambodia) is like arguing over just how much blood Benedict Arnold lost at Saratoga. Let's keep the focus on the treason.

Not sure if he mentioned him, but one of those Generals, Merril McPeak, was Air force Chief of Staff while I was in and he was the worst Chief of Staff ever.

I will allow myself to gloat a little. Jonah needs to get a grip usually. He tends to be a little nellyish.

Jonah was very distressed over Zell Miller's speech, fearing it was too extreme.

That right! And that was the point I was making.

A Clinton presidency killed thousands, a Kerry one would kill millions.

You can't let people like that bother you. You just can't. Don't take it personal. The guy probably has a dial up system and pictures take forever to load. That's not YOUR problem. Don't make it your problem by allowing him to push your button.

People need those facts. They need to be repeated. If Jim doesn't have a problem with it .. I would just ignore these people.

Well, after all you have been through weather wise in FL you deserve to rant! I hope you and your neighbors get back to some kind of normalacy as soon as possible.

I had not heard about this fake anthrax scare and found your post very interesting. I cannot imagine why someone would do that right before the debate...kinda co inky dinky since like you said, it would involve Pres.Bush having to make several decisions and be distracting.

That name dropping is SO weak!!

Definitely. Even most political junkies don't know who they are, and even the peoplewho served under them aren't likely to change their opinion because of it.

He's not... but it's no better: Charlie Gibson and Bob Schieffer.

The veeps get Gwen Ifill. I have hopes that she'll shoot straight.

yea I don't get it.... Why couldn't he use them? They're right! So frustrating watching him sit there and take it.

Maybe that was what the bush camp wanted to happen. Let Bush sit there and take all the jabs in the first debate, and just tense up and take it again, and again, turning cheek after cheek... might gain support from people... People love a strong underdog. Then in Round two the bruised and embattled warrior keeps taking the jabs but towards the end gets a few swings of his own..., and finish strong with a round 3 with a flurry of punches and an uppercut sending the senator down for the count and the crowd goes wild!!!?

Or he was really tired from visiting with people in Florida today. Either way. God Bless Mr. President Bush. :)
