A couple of months ago, we the number of newsfeeds in our Deskpops Interactive Wallpaper to over 70. And the response was incredible. Thousands of news junkies realized they could keep up with the latest news from their favorite conservative sources, right on their desktops...and we mean RIGHT ON THEIR DESKTOPS!
And now we've made a great service even better by adding 40 more news feeds. That's over 100 news sources right at your fingertips!
We've added news from UPI, The Washington Times, The Wall Street Journal, Opinion Journal, CNS News and Lucianne.com.
Plus, you can now find your favorite columnists like Ann Coulter, David Limbaugh, Hugh Hewitt, Dennis Prager, Joseph Farah, Larry Elder and Michelle Malkin.
And instead of just one Free Republic newsfeed, Deskpops Interactive Wallpaper now offers 15 Free Republic topics, including Breaking News, Front Page News, Chapters, Editorials and more.
We've also beefed up our Blog offerings with names like Powerline, Command Post, Mudville Gazette, Little Green Footballs and a dozen more.
These new feeds are in addition to the existing 70+ news sources already featured on Deskpops, including Newsmax, WorldNetDaily, Steyn Online, The Christian Science Monitor, AP and more.
Deskpops requires a broadband (DSL, Cable Modem, T1, T3) connection and Windows 98, ME, 2000 or XP. Deskpops won't slow your computer down or cause any conflicts with your current software. Deskpops contains no spyware and doesn't track any of your movements on the Internet. It works silently in the background, fetching content and bringing it to your desktop. It couldn't be easier, and it couldn't be cooler.
And current users of Deskpops Interactive Wallpaper don't have to do anything, the update happens automatically.
Best of all, it's absolutely free!
New/Activism is now working properly too.
Bump for later
I have Win 98 also. Drag the link you want to open and drop it on the desktop, then click on it to open. Kind of half as**d but it works. Do you have Mozzila as your default browser? Actve desktop may only work through IE.

That wallpaper is still confusing.
I still can't find article names that match the FR Breaking or the FR News/Activism forum.
Right now, FR Breaking shows 'More chemical weapons in Iraq' and your Freep Breaking shows 'Middle School Teacher in Trouble Over Presidential Photo?'
I don't see anything on the wallpaper Freep list that matches the FR News/Activism forum article titles.
Thanks for your reply!

I love it!!! Thanks for the headsup! I have a dial up at work and now I don't want to go...well, I didn't want to go anyway...but now I only have 10 minutes to play with my new toy. Freep or eat, Freep or eat...decisions, decisions.

I'm a big fan of Jakob Nielsen.
Bump for later downloading.
I just installed it, looks nice, but on Freep breaking I actually see Freeper names that lead to their home page. What is up with that?
Yep looks like it's fixed, I like it.
Thanks for the reply! Yes Mozilla is my default, but your suggestion does work. I'll probably still use the sage extention in Mozilla more often, but do like the idea of the updating desktop.
I just downloaded it, and I think I'm going to like it. However, I have a problem not answered in the FAQ's. Although I'm patriotic, and love the flag, I downloaded "computer genius", and installed it over the flag wallpaper. Now, my menus have all changed, and I don't know how to get all of the conservative drop down lists back. Is it possible for the conservative drop down lists to co-exist with Ms. Computer Genius? Please help. Thanks.
I'm glad you like it. Unfortunately, the "Computer Genius" background only carries either our "Generic" feeds or our "Tech & Gaming" feeds. The Conservative Deskpops only includes the flag at this time. We hope to release Version 2 of Deskpops in a few months. Version 2 will allow you to use any background picture, even one of your own and will allow you to change your newsfeeds to anything you like.
There is a workaround to what you want to do, though, and I'll email you the directions separately.
Jeff
