This is not a movie for the sensitive or the easily offended. Many times I winced at the topic or images. But the movie's bottom line is that it conveys the feelings of most Americans towards the "Famous Idiots" in La La land. This movie doing well will force Hollywood boneheads to realize how idiotic most view them (or are we way past that being a possibility). Either way, it's not a Sunday School Class field trip...but worth the few bucks to be this entertained.
I haven't seen the film yet, but I downloaded Kim Jung Il singing "I'm so Ronery" What a scream!
Read an interview with the South Park guys today (I forget where as there are so many out just now -- possibly in ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY). They essentially said that they wanted to make Moore fatter but that the puppet's heads were so oversized that, perspective-wise, it simply couldn't be done.
Heh - love it.
What did he do--eat a couple dozen burritos, get too close to a bic lighter and spontaneously combust?
That's all the review I need. I will pass but give your review to my wife's daughter and her husband. They are always ROFL with Southpark. I watched some with them but left the room. I am no prude and it didn't bother me to watch it but it was just worthless, crude trash and to see them enjoying it so, I left rather than tell them how retarded their sense of entertainment was.
Even with some cringeworthy moments I loved it. The death of the F.A.G.s and the "three types of people were outstanding.
Thanks for the ping. I guess everyone noticed that Ebert gave it only one star. Called it "nihilistic." What a bunch of horse puckey. Interestingly enough, the guy who writes for my local paper (the Orange County Register) is a liberal too, but he gave it an A minus!
If you missed it earlier, see my #27 for a link to "I'm So Lonely"
But aside from that, you will laugh and laugh and laugh. I was laughing so hard in some parts! The lead character is discovered as an actor on Broadway, starring in a show called "Lease". When we first meet him, he is singing a song called "Everybody Has AIDS". It gets funnier from there.
I thought naked puppets in the various "adult" positions were very funny.
Husband and I will be seeing it on Sunday! We have looked forward to it. Team America will be the 1st movie we have seen in the theater since The Passion.
Well, voters shouldn't be making decisions on the basis of a puppet movie. The thing potential voters could glean from this movie is the reality of what they are seeing or reading about, and the unreality of the views of the goofy Hollywood leftists.
I was talking to my best friend, whom I've known since college, about this movie today (got up early to see it at 11:45, GREAT, by the way), and we both agreed that we would have thought the "South Park" guys were really cool if they'd been around back when we were in college. But we couldn't even imagine ever being unhip enough back then (or now) to have ever thought that bloated, money-grubbing propagandist hog Michael Moore was cool. We were pretty good at spotting lying, egomanical hypocrites, and that's the one thing Moore actually is the king of.
Ti..Ti..Timmah?
I used to love Southpark, but it got boring fast. I did enjoy the episode where the kids went hunting with an AK47. Dad! Can we shoot THAT one? No son, that's an endangered species. We could only shoot him if he were attacking....LOOK HE'S COMING RIGHT FOR US!!! BLAM!
I like Beavis and Butthead Do America, more. HEH heh heh heh heh
Mattttt Damonmmmm........
