He is amazing. IMHO he is one of very few men alive today who could stand shoulder to shoulder with our founding fathers and not be laughed out of the room.
All the current politicians would be thrown out of the hall and properly labeled as incompetant and uneducated after trying to speak for 5 minutes.
Ted Koppell: "Both candidates made their points, in a debate that ended in a draw."
Peter Jennings: "A draw."
Tom Brokaw: "It looks like a tie in the debate tonight."
Katie Couric: "Well, Barack Obama sure did get his message out there tonight. Let's recap what Obama said that makes him the clear winner..."
There is no question who is most qualified to serve in the U.S. Senate. GO ALAN GO!
I would add Dick Cheney to that list.
I think on the issue of taxes, Keyes should be talking more about traditional tax reform and not scaring people by suggesting a complete overhaul of the current system. That is not gonna get him many votes in Illinois, or throughout most of America.
>>>>Keyes is speaking about issues he supports.
That's always been Keyes` problem. He doesn't play well in many places across the nation. In Illinois, his policy agenda isn't in the mainstream. Most of America finds his policy agenda to extreme. He can't get elected being stubborn.
I had a Keyes quote pinned to my wall in 1999 for many months...it was about abortion and how it was built on a lie, and would eventually crumble. Gave me great hope.
The Vice-President is an awesome debater.
In fact, he's the second-best debater I've ever seen! ;-)
He's really great at closing, isn't he?
Obviously, no one can really know what's going to happen in this election, but [memo to Senator Frist] if Keyes does not win, wouldn't he make a great Senate Chaplain? ;-)
To be fair, Alan has not played up the fundamental tax reform issue.
He was asked a question, and he answered it.
Is that the high power station heard all over the eastern US? 670am or some such?
Indeed!
How about Supreme Court Justice? That's where he'd really shine.
This might sound odd, but Keyes looked more the "black" candidate. Obama not only doesn't have a "black" background, or appearance, but is deliberately trying to appeal to whites. While Keyes is just being himself.
By the way, President Bush and Speaker Haster BOTH have made statements supporting replacing the income tax with a national sales tax. If that makes a person "out of the mainstream," I'd say it's good company.
Chief Justice! ;-)
Oh man, that would be the next best thing to a revolution...LOL...
