Was this the speech that was originally scheduled for the Palace at Auburn Hills? Did it get moved so 88,000 people can see President Bush instead of 15,000.

SOMETHING must be going on in the campaigns' internal polls, since Bush is spending time in "Kerry" states as well as "battleground" states, and . . . Kerry is ALSO spending time in "Kerry" states as well as "battleground" states.

I am trying to mix optimism and hope with humility and the knowledge that we have to keep working as hard as possible.

I'm gonna have an ulcer by the time this is done!

I have no idea because its hard to get news about Bush coming in this area....didn't hear about this until I just so happened to catch the LATE news, and then they only announced it in passing.

But, I've heard about Kerry coming on nearly every radio station. Barf!

But, yes....the silverdome seats 80,000+ Yeeeeee Haaaaa!

Bush has a lot of support here in Michigan. It's no big surprise that his rally is being held at the Silverdome and Kerry's was held in a much much much smaller venue last night.

And most reports say more about Bon Jovi playing, they about Kerry.

Proposition 04-02 (Constitutional Ammendment to define marriage as a union between one-man, one-woman) is going to drive conservatives to the polls in record numbers...

Some local polls show that the President has a legitimate shot at the state because the proposal is favored 2 to 1...

I like to think optimistic too, but maybe the W camp thinks it can't win Ohio and is looking to compensate through Iowa, Wis, MN, MI or PA. Kerry might be campaigning there to hold him off.

I can't take it anymore & wish I could be a libertarian for the next week.....I'm going to need some heavy drugs.

Could be. But of course this too is labeled a "Republican dirty trick" - reigning in nutcase judges and allowing the people to retain the commonly understood definition of marriage throughout our history.

I have posted on the "gay marriage" issue itself on this site before. But I also agree it is a plus for Bush - the public agrees with him!

Yes. I certainly know I would give up on Ohio if I had a consistent lead in the polls, numerous visits scheduled, and thousands of volunteers making millions of phone calls. Yes, Archie, you sure seem to be a positive thinker! < / sarcasm >

At this rally, I hope the President addresses how Kerry's continued efforts to undermine the war effort is aiding and abetting the enemy, fueling the insurgents and putting the troops at greater risk.

Are there conservative news-talk programs in SE Michigan that are telling people about this? If not, can they be called? ;-)

Did you know that the largest crowd ever assembled indoors was at the Silverdome? It was when the Pope visited about 10 years ago (over 100,000 or more I think). Perhaps a new benchmark will be set here?

Rush was the only conservative the SE area had on the radio when I was living there earlier this year. I think there was a station that carried Hugh Hewitt, but it did not have alot of range. Albom is a commiesocialistthug so he won't announce it.

Moving to Colorado Springs was great, it is a conservative radio lovers wet dream with the 9am-10am guy, then Rush, then Hannity, then Dr Joe, then Savage...O'Reilly is the token liberal at night, then Art Bell's show to boggle your brain at bedtime.

There is a modest hippy liberal population here, along with college koolaiders, but 4 military bases help to tilt the scales. Never in my life have I lived in a conservative area.

I love it.

That venue might be too small for all his supporters in the area. Better get your tickets early :)

Coop, I can recognize your brand of sarcasm in just the first sentence!

Archie, buck up! The MSM and commies wouldn't be squealing this hard if they weren't getting beaten!
