PENNSYLVANIA GOING TO BUSH!?!?!?!
11-02-04 | Josh in PA

Posted on 11/02/2004 5:35:26 AM PST by Josh in PA

I have been doing work for two candidates, One a guy running for PA State House, and another one in the US House (John Peterson)... From what I'm hearing higher up in the campaigns, the GOP voting turnout in this rural area of PA (that went 62-34 to Bush) is OFF THE FRICKIN CHARTS!!!

They actually think Pennsylvania is going to goto Bush.. I'll get more when I hear it!!!!!

This is a good sign because "conventional wisdom" dictates that Republicans don't vote until after the get home from work in the evening.

I was up early putting Bush signs up an'at. I noticed a large amount of Kerry signs at the local voting pole. Those Jagoffs are worried. My wife and I will be passing out Clymer pamphlets for those truly undecided.

"Then her son (my dem husband) called her last night and gave her what for for considering voting for this man. "

Are you saying your hubbie is a Dem for Bush?

Bush doesn't have to win Philly to win the state, but he has to do VERY well there... if he can do it, he will carry PA... I don't know if he will pull it off, I certainly hope so, so that I can go to bed early tonight happy.

In my hometown, Lancaster, PA, there was a drive-in diner run by some Amish folks (talk about a cultural conflict). They would tie their buggy up in the back.

When you got a sandwhich, it was thick sliced home-made bread piled high with baked ham, etc. Milk shakes were just that- Real ice cream and whole milk. Freedom Fries were fresh cut double fried to get them crisp. Mmmmmmmmmm! Real food. We were called 'English', as we were not plain folks.

My next door neighbors were Mennonites. Mrs. Mellinger used to make a pumpkin roll....thin sheet of pumpkin cake rolled up around some fresh buttercream. Oh...I'm drooling just thinking about it. And then there were the Fastnachts (donuts without a hole). Fried in lard of course. Wow.

Anyway, go out and vote!

Agreed. I am also from PA, I voted this morning, turnout was higher than ever in my 60/40 Republican township, but that still doesn't mean Bush is carrying PA. I would expect that the Democrats are going to turnout as well. We'll see. I have a list of 10 names of Bush voters who I will contact around noon to ensure they vote.

"Everything is in play because of voter fraud. Dems in Philly and Pitt will stuffing ballot boxes all day. Don't start rejoicing yet."

Agreed.

They literally threw out military votes last election, I wouldn't be surprised if they throw out or 'lose' rural votes this time around. I believe Stalin said it's not who votes but who counts the votes that matters. Aren't America's ballots controlled by the (socialist) League of Women Voters?

I, for one, intend to patronize the Amish more frequently (at least those in Ohio) if it turns out they voted more than usual.

Considering I saw your post last night that PA was really close, that makes me feel much better. :)

In the suburbs, the GOP GOTV organization is very strong. I'm in Plum Borough (East of Pittsburgh) and we have poll watchers at every polling place and we are fully staffed at the phone banks to get the vote out for W.

As an aside, my daughter's elementary school had an election yesterday. Two classes did not vote (about 40 kids) and there were a handful of absences... but the results were BUSH 202 KERRY 92. A very good indicator of how the parents are voting... In my neighborhood, there are Bush signs in yards all along my street...the yard signs are about 10-1 in favor of Bush... Bumpersticker battles are about the same ratio... I feel confident... and then there is the Amish vote....

I wonder if the military ballot issue in PA is playing on the minds of Republican voters?
