From the bridge where Americans were killed and burned... Marines answer.

From Jeff Harrel's Markos Zuniga of DailyKos.com famously wrote, "I feel nothing about the deaths of mercernaries. They aren’t in Iraq because of orders, or because they are trying to help the people make Iraq abetter place. They are there to wage war for profit. Screw them." Don't go looking for this quote on Markos' site. When the publicity went bad, he obliterated it, airbrushing it right out of history like some kind of Stalinist purge. But some of us remember. Hence, "Markos 'Screw Them' Zuniga."

What a tragedy beyond belief [for a friend to lose her little brother, a Marine named David Caruso It's very hard for me to think about without crying.

I don't think I fully understand your pain, but there are those on FR who do. My earlier words (if they convince you) stand. Marines especially, but all American troops who die or receive wounds in the line of duty are a permanent part of our country's story.

We would not exist as a nation without them and their sacrifices. We all owe our lives to them, every one.

The history of free nations is that of warfare. From the first democracy in Greece until today it has not been much different. We do not sacrifice our troops, but some do have to pay the ultimate price.

If the grief is too much for you or your friend, feel free to start a prayer thread, if that may comfort either of you.

And I dont hear the Arab or Muslim world apologizing to us for these acts, either, I hear them rejoicing over it!

It is a shortened version of the Latin term Semper Fedelis. Translated it reads always faithful. This term is ingrained into every Marine from day 1 of boot camp. You will always have faith in you God, Country, Corps, and the Marine standing next to you. His skin means as much to you as your does to you, and visa versa. You will keep your faith that the Marine who has your back no matter what & you have his! This is also why the Marine Corps is called a band of Brothers! [Sisters in my beloved Corps are included in this as well]

It means, "Always faithful". Here's a couple of more our forces like to use...

De Opresse Libre! - and - Sic Symper Tyranus!

Both apply in Fallujah.

Long past time...but when finally allowed, the Marines got it done and did not forget. God bless 'em.

Semper Fi!

FI ryhmes with "pie". Watch "Mailcall" on the History Channel and you can hear Gunny Ermey pronounce it.

I'm actually off to sight my frontloader.

Nearest public range of any consequence is 60 miles.

Adios!

Copiah County, Mississippi deer are now officially quaking in their cornfields knowing I'm "getting ready".

I think the deer would be even more scared if you were out sighting your front-end loader.

I'd pay good money to see a Deer vs. Catepillar Death Match.
