I agree. If Jeb wins the primaries and ultimately the general election, he won fair and square. This idea that Jeb shouldn't be allowed to run because who his brother and father are is equivalent to affirmative action.

Its a little early now, there's about 2 governors, possibly 3 (not including Jeb) who will probably run in 2008, not to mention a few senators.
In 1996, most people hadn't even heard of John Kerry, in 1988, Clinton was the guy who gave a long speech about nothing and no one thought he would even be a viable canidate for the dem nominee one day.
4 years is a long time, Guys like Warner (from carolina, not virginia), Pawtanley, Owens, Rommey will be major players on the state along with the host of senators.
More likely then not, most Americans right now, aren't farmiliar with the person who will be the 2008 GOP nominee.

Thanks for the names. I agree, it will either be Jeb or a (presently) unknown. After what the base did for Bush in this election, they are not going to be ignored 2008 with a candidate like Guliani or McCain.
To be honest with you, I don't think Jeb is running. He's said it over and over again that he won't run in 2008. He's also young, and seems to be more of a wonk then his brother.
Guliani is not going to run for prez in 2008 either. He's more then hinted that he's going to take a shot at a NY job (i.e. governor or senator). I think he's waiting to see what Pataki does.
McCain knows his own limitations, and also knows which senators are probably going to run, I think McCain is getting more or less ready to ride off into the sunset or serve in a cabinet spot down the road. Look for McCain to back Hagel in 2008 in the primary.

Sorry for the hanging post. I meant to say that she's not too hot on the idea of her husband running for prez.
He's got what I consider to the greatest credential a senator can have -- he doesn't aspire to stay there and make a career of that slickie-boy debating club.
Frist wants to get things done. That's why I think "nuclear" is a real option with him.
It's either the presidency or no more politics.
Most people don't know Jeb very well and don't know Pataki or Frist at all.
I'm surprised George W. Bush didn't use her in any campaign ads.
In 1988 George H.W. Bush had her in a well done and perfect campaign ad, I thought it was brilliant, I think that same ad would have done even better if W had used it.
