Ok,
No_Outcome_But_Victory brought up a good point on an earlier thread. Lets set up a list of some charity organizations that are sending relief to the victums of the Christmas earthquake.

I have a few here. Of course the Red Cross

www.redcross.org

This is the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod page for emergency relief. I think that they are updating as more gets organized.

http://www.lcms.org/pages/internal.asp?NavID=1872

I know that there are many others.

Salvation mentioned a Father Emerito that does mission activities in the area, but I don't have a good link for him

If anyone knows of a place to donate money, food, or any other supplies, please post on the thread.

The LCMS finally got a good donation site.

Thanks everyone so far! Keep it up!

Do the Orthodox have some relief organizations that can be listed?

Here is a reliable organization you can donate relief funds. He is a personal and trustworthy friend and has a great organization. This is the e-mail he sent out this morning: We have had several calls and emails asking if they can give through COC for the Asia Earthquake and killer waves. YOU CAN GIVE TO COC AND WE WILL SEND 100 % OF YOUR GIFT TO THAT DISASTER. PLEASE MARK YOUR ENVELOPE OR THE MEMO SECTION WITH THE WORD “ ASIA” . We have already received gifts for that relief effort Pastor George Circle of Concern: PO Box 98, Dana Point, Ca 92629 949-388-6400 Fax 949-388-7152 Check out our WEB site::

So much hate

No. So much logic! Many nations in this area are run by Muslim extremists. Sending money to these "victims" would be like sending money to Sunni Triangle insurgent leaders. There is a good chance a lare portion of charity to these nations will go to by weapons to kill Americans.

The thugs run these countries--innocent people do not. Who do you think will receive the money? Innocent people or thugs? Who is in control of these contries? Innocent people or thugs?

From the Presbyterian Church in America:

Asia Tsunami Disaster Relief

Thanks to those of you who have inquired about the PCA's response to the unimaginable disaster in Asia. Response to this tragedy is being called the largest disaster relief response in the history of the world. PCA churches and members have always been faithful to help in such times, and Mission to the World is now facilitating a response to aid Sri Lanka and Indonesia.

You can help in three ways:

1. PRAY. Pray for the physical and emotional needs of those millions of affected people, and most of all for their spiritual response to the Lord through both the witness of our people and the direct work of the Holy Spirit in their hearts.

2. GIVE. We will issue a Minuteman appeal to raise funds. You may contribute now by donating online, by phone, or by sending a check (see below). Relief funds will be immediately advanced to our contacts on the field, even before Minuteman contributions reach us.

3. GO. We will send disaster relief teams. Field personnel are now working with nationals to determine where and how we can best help. For more information, please contact Hope Williams at hwilliams@mtw.org or 678-823-0004 ext. 362.

Donate online, or call toll-free 866-373-6133 for a credit card donation.

Please make checks out to MTW and designate "Asia Relief" on the memo line. Thank you!

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has a Humanitarian Foundation that anyone can contribute to. 100% of the aid goes to the victims. If the LDS Church doesn't have a presence in the afflicted country(s), then they work with the Catholic Relief Services. You can make donations at Humanitarian Relief Services. The nice thing about the Humanitarian Services foundation is that one can donate money or products to them at any time for help anywhere around the world, including the United States.

Thanks for an excellent list. Americares does some great work, and has been supported by President Bush 43 and Barbara Bush, who I believe is on the board.

Some may wish to consider giving to Samaritan's Purse run by Franklin Graham, son of Billy Graham.

I can recommend Samaritan's Purse (run by Franklin Graham, Billy Graham's son, and one of the few organizations that has been in Sudan during the past few years directly helping the victims of the massacres there).
