STATE OF THE UNION -- 2005 [Live Thread]
2/2/05

Posted on 02/02/2005 3:43:44 PM PST by Timeout

The pre-spin: Bush will spend about 1/2 the speech on foreign policy, 1/2 on domestic, with heavy emphasis on Social Security reform. It's said he will provide a detailed tutorial on the SS system and its problems with a few details on his personal accounts proposal.

Laura's guests are said to be an Afghan voter and an Iraqi voter (too bad there's no Ukrainian wearing an orange hat!).

Should we start a drinking game on how many times the pool camera swings to Hillary? Hmmm. Probably not...it would likely hamper out typing ability.

Word on the blogs has it that the closing part of the speech is a hum-dinger. Set your VCR's.

Report here on outrageous MediaCrat spin before AND after the SOTU. Pictures and screen caps welcome.

By the way, I'm serious about loving Maine Coons. One of the very best cats I EVER had, was Anubis. HUGE but so gentle, put up with the crazy little Nefertiti cat constantly pouncing on him. Well one day, Anubis finally had enough, and when Nefertiti suprise-mugged Anubis YET AGAIN, Anubis clocks Nefertiti with a no-claw paw on the top of the head. No claws, more like a slap.

You could hear a THUNK sound in the next room, like a small hammer hitting a coconut.

Nefertiti was MUCH better behaved around the Majestic and Regal Anubis from then on. LOL

I didn't tear up, nobody saw me tear up, you can't prove anything!

It's ok. You're human. It's all good.

W just finished his speech, and the camera flashed to Laura, who looked like she hasn't stopped crying since the parents were honored.

Wow x a million. I'm just floored.

Let's rock and roll.

Unbelievable speech, the swimmer passes out long before 9, he'll be in a dark alley in Mass. somewhere.

Or, if we're really lucky, Chapaquiddik, alone this time.

If this doesn't show any doubters why the President's critics are so small and petty then nothing will. The Norwoods...just damn.

Brit Hume just mentioned it also. He sounds like he's slightly mushy.

It was a team effort.

America and Iraq has shed a lot of blood. The Iraqi's risked their lives to stand down the terrorists. They could have left our soldiers and our leadership hanging by not coming out to vote.

They did and are doing their part.
