President Bush nominated John Negroponte today to be the new Director of National Intelligence. Negroponte is the former ambassador to Iraq. The First Couple also hosted Paul Rusesabagina and his wife, Tatiana. Mr. Rusesabagina sheltered refugees in a Rwandan hotel where he worked as a manager, and was the subject of the movie, 'Hotel Rwanda'. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

On the other hand, as the old saying goes,

"never wrestle with a pig... you get all dirty, and besides the pig enjoys it."

Make sure you save this picture and send us one like it - just as the trees start to get their brand new green leaves. I can just imagine sitting on that porch and enjoying that view. Spectacular!!

It was the inspiration for my tagline. I saw jinkagrl's and went off looking for another great Rummy quote. He says the funniest things :)

He does indeed, ilovew. A remarkable man in a lot of ways. A real tough survivor.

It's a wonderful photo, snugs. Most news photos are just high-quality snapshots. Few have any genuine artistic merit. That one of the VP does.

I'm half Italian, but that doesn't mean I can tell the difference between Italian and Spanish names.

I made a chicken and rice enchilada thingy. From Chicken Helper. (I actually bought that Chicken Helper thing too....) I'd love to have the recipe. Cooking dinner usually tends to keep her quiet, at least for a little while, though it's difficult to do cuz I usually work nights or I'm working until 3 or 4 and can't stand up for the rest of the day.

The press usually seems to have hurt feelings about something President Bush is doing. Remember how upset they got about his trip to Baghdad? Cuz they hadn't been told! What a bunch of dorks.

Well, I'm glad you aren't sick of it yet, because you took the photo and we benefit from your good photographic eye.

I've never heard that one before. That was funny. I'll have to remember that.

It was incredibly beautiful and just the kind of snow I like...big, soft lazy flakes floating down.

I just wouldn't want it all winter. But for a couple of days, it would be fabulous.

Now wouldn't that be mean?

In God's great scheme of things, the cat's just doing what she was born to do. Besides, she sure looks like she enjoys herself when she toys with a mouse. Heeerrrrre, trollie, trollie, trollie. I've got a little treat for you. [evil snicker]

I just love the way he responds to the press. He never lets them get to him. And he's SO smart! I hope I'll be at least half that rational when I'm his age.

President George W. Bush gives a press conference in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building in Washington, DC. Bush said Syria was 'out of step' with changes in the Middle East.

Here's one from the presser that I believe hasn't been posted. Unremarkable photo, but what he's saying about Syria is pretty important.

Yes, I just love the way Rumsfeld handles the Dems and the press. Big Rummy fan.
Here is one of my favorites of W back in fly-over country and the team.

Looking at that photo and other of Dick Cheney I always think that he has very few wrinkles/lines on his face for a man of 64 maybe it is because he is a bit overweight and therefore fuller in the face.

LOL, I'm half Italian too, and know some Spanish, but still it's hard to tell the difference. If I told you my dad's family's last name (they claim to be 100% Italian and think that everyone else are lesser beings), you would think it was French. I've researched it and found it can only be Spanish. In fact, it is a common name in Spain.
So much for being 100% Italian, eh?!

Being half Italian is a good thing. A friend and I spent a month touring the byways and back roads of Northern Italy a few years ago. It was SO beautiful and interesting and the people were just so nice. Except for that town where all the alabaster comes from (can't remember the name), they were real snots there.
