Well, everyday I search "minuteman" in Google News, which brings up the latest articles.

I believe this was written by Christian Science Monitor, but was posted to the ABC News Website.

A lot of this article sounds like hyperbole. Nonetheless, there is obviously a lot of illegal aliens getting through.

The problem is one of attraction. The illegal alien is attracted to the free food stamp market and the federally mandated free emergency room care, not to mention the jobs, which are not available in Mexico. Also not to mention the "anchor " babies, which gives the right of parents to petition for residency because they are the parents of American citizens.

Never forget that the citizens of California voted for proposition 187. But why is prop 187 not the law? Because the judiciary said it was not Constitutional. Interpretation is everything.

Ms. Garner, who grew up here in Naco, population 7,000. And it is more dangerous and pernicious, she says, with a growing number of people of different nationalities coming across the border, including from the Middle East, India, and Afghanistan.

Uh-huh, you know what I am talking about!

I'd poison the water and leave it out for them.

Would you really? You should take that back. Shame on you.

Would you really?

Yes.

You should take that back.

But I won't.

Shame on you.

Shame on law enforcement (both local and federal) and shame on the illegal aliens.

From the article:

"I come out to go to school, and they are changing their clothes under my bedroom window," says daughter Shayne.

"They leave backpacks filled with drugs on the lawn," says sister Ciara.

"Years ago, they would politely ask you for water outside. Now you come home and someone is in your house, eating your food, trashing your bedroom, stealing your stuff, and leaving garbage everywhere."

"You'll be weeding in your garden and turn around to see 20 of them standing in front of you, demanding water and food,"

It's an invasion. It's probably in the "Handbook for Invaders" that they demand, not hope they're offered, nourishment.

Somebody probably told them the USofA is now run by wimps who think borders are irrlevant.

"And it is more dangerous and pernicious, she says, with a growing number of people of different nationalities coming across the border, including from the Middle East, India, and Afghanistan.

The evidence of that comes in Islamic prayer rugs found in the desert dust, Arabic literature left by still-warm campfires, and Afghani head garb caught on cactus quills."

Homeland Security is a joke.

http://www.live-shot.com/

LIVE-SHOT is a new concept. You can challenge yourself and compare your skills to other members with our on-line target shooting. We have developed a system where you can control a pan/tilt/zoom camera and a firearm to shoot at real targets in real time.

Just and Idea. :)

Go ahead, tell me how bad it was to suggest it. lol

wouldn't stand for this for one damn second. These people need to have good local miltias comprised of willing family, friends, and neighbors to help patrol their property in shifts, armed with some good firepower and cell phones ready to call border patrol. Unfortunately this is too widespread, and the residents have jobs to attend to, thus making it impossible to always keep them away, but I'd still make the effort. This is freakin insane.

I accidentally posted this after you, so my comment is copied and pasted from my failed thread.

Ping. You gotta read this article.

(from the article) Islamic prayer rugs found in the desert dust, Arabic literature left by still-warm campfires, and Afghani head garb caught on cactus quills

Everyone knows they're just coming here to do "the jobs Americans won't do."

Demanding? Don't they realize they are "guests" and we will give them anything they want?

LOL. I'm picturing a group of snooty diners demanding their waiter/waitress bring more bread, more water, etc. Because they are entitled to such service.

She translates aloud from a paper handbook that she found in an abandoned backpack, -snip- The book explains why not to bribe American officials, what terrain to avoid, and spells out what the Border Patrol is obligated to do upon catching illegal immigrants. "Whenever you go to America, they are required to give you emergency medical attention," says Shayne, translating from Spanish. "The authorities are obligated to give you basic services of hygiene, and they have to help you if you are sick."

Demanding? No! Entitled!! Afterall, the book says so!

What needs to happen is for the Feds to start enforcing the laws against hiring illegals. Since '86 when criminal penalties were established there's only been one, count them, ONE case which was criminally prosecuted.

Walmart paid a fine equal to about 15 minutes of their anuual revenue.

I'd like to see some of the farms who employ these people raided by INS and then prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Couple that with your chola cactus idea, which I like very much by the way, and we could make a dent in the problem.

Plant a belt of it along the border, and you'd need heavy equipment to open a gap in it.

If it's that dangerous to handle, how do you go about planting or transplanting it?

I wonder if some people's eyes in the media are being opened.

Naw....their eye's are still closed. But that elephant in the room...smells to high heaven. And THAT has got their attention.

Wow, what a great concept! This allows people without ready access (urban-bound, disabled, etc.) to participate in some measure of the target shooting experience. Thanks for posting that link.

I couldn't agree more.

If it's that dangerous to handle, how do you go about planting or transplanting it?

I've never tried to move the stuff. I'd imagine that one could do it gingerly with serious protective gear with small plants before they become big and impossible to handle. Perhaps the better way might be by just appropriately distributing the seeds and letting nature do the rest.

In addition to efficacy, it also has plausible deniability built into it as a defensive barrier. What political-hack 'investigative reporter' is going to go on camera blaming people in Arizona for having cactus on their property?

Wire entanglements and mines, on the other hand...
