COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A 16-year-old disabled girl was punched and forced to engage in videotaped sexual acts with several boys in a high school auditorium as dozens of students watched, according to witnesses.
Authorities are investigating and no charges have been filed in the alleged attack last month at Mifflin High School. Four boys suspected of involvement were sent home and have not returned to class.
Also, the principal, Regina Crenshaw, was suspended and will be fired for not calling police, school officials said. And three assistant principals were suspended and will be reassigned to other schools.
Crenshaw had no comment Tuesday.
The girl was forced to perform oral sex on at least two boys, according to statements from school officials, obtained by The Columbus Dispatch.
Part of the alleged assault was videotaped by a student who had a camera for a school project.
School officials found the girl bleeding from the mouth. An assistant principal cautioned the girl's father against calling 911 to avoid media attention, the statements said. The girl's father called police.
Her father said the girl is developmentally disabled. A special education teacher said the teen has a severe speech impediment.

A 16-year-old student with developmental delays said she was dragged into the auditorium of Mifflin High School and forced to perform oral sex on at least two male students while more than a dozen other students were called in to watch.
One student reportedly took a videotape of the sex acts, NBC 4 reported.
A student witness reported hearing an attacker warn, "If you scream, I'll have my boys punch you."
The same witness said the girl then dropped to her knees after she was punched in the face.
Students scattered when help was called, officials said.
Special education teacher Julie Calvario said the girl told her about the incident.
"(She said) she was scared and told him to stop, but he hit her in the head and told her to be quiet," Calvario said.
Even after administrators were alerted to the alleged criminal act, they did not call police, or the victim's father, NBC 4 reported.
More than an hour later, teacher Lisa Upshaw called the girl's father. Upshaw said that when the girl's father arrived, assistant principal Richard Watson would not call the police.
"(The girl's father) asked if we were going to call the police. Mr. Watson said, 'No, we don't want to do that. We don't want the police," Upshaw said.
Watson is one of three assistant principals suspended for 10 days. Principal Regina Crenshaw will likely lose her job, NBC 4 reported.
The girl's father called police after Upshaw told him, "This is child abuse. She needs medical attention and this is wrong," NBC 4 reported.
NBC 4 reported that Upshaw also told the girl's father that he needed to take the victim to the hospital and that she was a walking crime scene.
Administrators reportedly warned the father that if police were called, the news media would follow, NBC 4 reported.
Police said they now have the videotape and the investigation continues, although no charges have been filed so far.

Funny, I call that common sense.
This is monstrous, and that school authorities warned the father not to call the police is mind-boggling. 'But...they're juveniles or don't have records, or come from broken homes, or are abused themselves...so it's not their fault.' Those who stood around, watched, and did nothing to help this girl should be charged, too.
Criminal and civil lawsuits coming right up, and thankfully so. Some communities don't pay attention until they get hit in the pocketbook.

Not only was the victim retarded, she had a speech impediment...so the thugs thought they were safe. Whatever she might try to say, nobody would understand her...or believe her.
I'm not sure how I would prevent myself from walking into the teacher's lounge and start cracking heads, being a dad of a 12 year old myself (the old SSG Airborne Infantry squad leader in me talking). The father in this case showed a lot of restraint and self discipline.

Some years ago, a woman with a retarded, mute son, was propositioned by a trusted church elder. He wanted her son and informed her he'd be doing everybody a favor by raping the kid,(he said he had relations with his retarded 12 year-old grandson all the time, and nobody minded).
As this fiend was kicked out of the woman's house in no uncertain manner, he said she'd better keep her mouth shut, or else he'd kill her. He said no one would believe her because she was poor and epileptic...but as for the son, well, he couldn't talk, so the man knew he was safe there. The woman called me, and I told her to call the cops. She said, no, she'd call the church, the pastor, and see if they wouldn't put a stop to this elder's pedophilia. (He gave read Bible stories to children while the parents were upstairs at services.)
The board of elders believed the man, who said my friend was 'of a certain age, imaginative, had made advances to him and been rejected, and now, sadly, it had come to this'. The board ordered her to keep her mouth shut. The man then spent the next few years threatening the woman at the church, on the sidewalk, stalked her, called her with more threats, until she finally called the cops, but didn't name the man. The dispatcher knew exactly who he was anyway and said they'd have a number of complaints. Nothing overt was ever done. The man lived out his life, seemingly a kindly, bearded old man, who could be found on occasion painting on the town common.
