LIMA, Peru (Reuters) -- Peruvian officials saved some 4,000 endangered frogs from being whizzed into popular drinks after they were found hidden in an abattoir.
"We were checking the fridges when out jumped a frog. It had escaped, they were in big crates," a spokesman for Lima city hall said on Thursday.
Frog cocktails are popular in the Andes because of their supposed aphrodisiac qualities.
Shops in central Lima selling the drinks have tanks where customers can choose their frogs.

Ah, the third world. Added to that the adoration of the "old culture," and "old ways" -- that would be STONE AGE ignorance and such.
Aphrodisiacs -- the magic pill to make people feel better. It was always easier than figuring it out the hard way, with brain power, self discipline and looking into that ole mirror.

To keep the frogs from jumping out, you turn the blender speed up gradually.

I surfed through
Jurassic Park last night. I caught the part about using frog DNA to fill in the missing pieces.
Perhaps that's what the consumers of liquified frogs hope to do, replace the missing DNA that helps the IQ?
