Yeah, you can just picture it as to how it went down, right? A few beers and a goofy group of frat boys start thinking that they're "bad". In a group, humans, particularly young men, lose half their intelligence and start thinking like a mob.

"I kept a revolver and shotgun with me in my room throughout college."

UNH bans all firearms on campus, including those inside cars driving through campus. Self-defense is not an option.

So did mine. I always figured it was better to live and face charges than die by abiding too many laws.

it said they began to surround him. He should have pulled a ted kennedy on one of them while pulling out of the parking lot.

I think that dad is going to get filthy, stinking rich over this one.

This is New England, comrade. I rather expect it is HE who will be jailed, fined, sued, and in the process losing his job, house, cars, and savings. While he is in prison, his daughters will be taken away and given remedial instruction on how to hate America, how to put condoms on cucumbers, and how to appreciate pornography. The frat boys will drop out of college and retire on the punitive damages they receive, becoming drug addicts, rapists, and criminals. The ACLU attorneys who represented the frat boys will be given lifetime appointments to the federal judiciary.

Sounds like "Animal House" ( my favorite movie ).

I bet the frats mouthed off to the guy too. I think he "rescued" his daughters. I was going to say he should have gotten a police escort and busted the guys. However, the police would most likely have blown him off cause its "college". Are my tax dollars paying for this stupidity...non recognized frat houses having crazy parties under the "protection" of being students. Bust those guys!

"The girls were 17 year old High School students who were driven to a frat party that was 40 miles from home."

I'd be willing to bet a substantial amount of money that they didn't look, or act, 17. I'm guessing that these young ladies have been out of control for a while, and that nearly anybody in whatever town they came from would be _more_ than happy to tell us all about it.

"Manchester police Sgt. James Soucy said last night he could not access files to determine whether Lohnes has a handgun permit."

Bureaucratic incompetence.

"Manchester police Sgt. James Soucy said last night he could not access files to determine whether Lohnes has a handgun permit."

But Durham police had no problem charging him with a crime.

Doesn't matter. If the angry father of two seventeen year old girls shows up at a drinking frat party, storms in the door, and says I want my daughters back right now...

The only response from the partygoers is, "Yes sir, right away." Anything else can and should get them hurt, bad.

They were MINORS.

His daughters had called him earlier Thursday night, saying they wanted to come home, Lohnes said. They had gotten a ride to a party, but had no ride back, he said.

"Don't make me out like I'm a bad guy here," Lohnes said. "I wanted to know who was hosting the underage drinking party, because my daughters are underage. When I tried to find out who was hosting the party, that's when they surrounded me."

The twin high school students left their Manchester home on May 17, said Deputy Chief Rene Kelley, adding their disappearance was reported to Manchester police.

The girls were reported missing. The police didn't do anything about that. The dad gets them back because none of the drunken students will give them a ride home and dad is the bad guy. If he gets charged I think setting up a defense fund is in order.

Too bad the frat party wasn't in the next state across state line. Had it been then whoever drove the girls to the party could have been charged in federal court under the Mann Act - Transporting a Minor across state lines fro immoral purposes (if it is even still on the books.)

A kidnapping? It doesn't say who gave the twins a ride to the party. Maybe it was another 17 year old girl who didn't want to leave when the twins did. Next thing you know, this 47 year old geezer shows up at a frat party demanding to know who's throwing it. The kids decide to throw him out and the guy pulls a gun. Come on. Maybe 100 hours of picking up trash along the highway might make Dad think before he acts next time.

College men find it difficult to choose between beer and young females in heat.

Frat parties offer both!
