The Island is 6 to 7 miles deep by about 20 miles long

B-1 = California Lighthouse - where the boys claim they took her first after leaving the Bar.

D-3 = #4 is the location of the 2 Marriott Hotels - where the 2 brothers (and now Joran) claim they dropped Joran and Natalee off after leaving the lighthouse -  the 2 brothers claim they went home to Hooiberg after that.

D-3 = #19 is the location of the Holiday Inn where Natalee was staying.

G-5 = Where the red #2 marker is pointing to is the area that the Carlos & Charlie Bar is located

D-4 = Township of Montana is where Joran lives

F-7/8 = Hooiberg (Haystack Mountain) - The 2 Kalpoe brothers live in this area at the foot of the Haystack Mountian.

C-9 = By the Natural Bridge on the map is the location where the sharks hang out as they are fed at this location. This is the Shark Infested Feeding Area.

E-3 = Wetland in the Bird Sanctuary is the location where they found the Condoms/Condom Wrappers - Duct Tape (looked like black electrical tape to me) - Female Flowered Panties - and a String or Strap from a Bikini or Halter Top.

I think Joran keeps lying about how he got home because HIS FATHER picked him up and took him home. It must have been after he got home that they decided they HAD to get a cover story together.

Like you, I find it slightly plausible that the VDS' could be in the center of this for other than the most obvious reasons. The cast of characters, PVDS' position, the seemingly inexplicable investigation path and the criminal element in Aruba make many angles worthy of consideration.

That's what made me wonder about the connection. Low-crime rate/then a slit throat murder/midst of Natalee's disappearance/media says no connection that same day/

I question it, like you - warning? or was he involved or knew something?

And now blame his girlfriend? That kind of murder plus dumping it in a cemetery? She would be capable of that?

The way I see it, his girlfriend will take the rap, she has no other choice.

And we will never know anything, no one would dare get too close to this case. I agree w/you - the type of killing was definitely a message.

The actual DEA agent will not be on TV. They protect their identities pretty well. Croes referred to him as a young man. I knew a DEA agent once and they really protect them. So who you saw on TV was probably not the actual DEA agent but might one of his supervisors.

Before I crash...

Remember there is no such thing as a perfect crime. There is no way that Joran is going to keep his mouth shut forever. He will slip up at some point. Look how many times he already has. It is up to Aruba/Holland LE to make sure they see that this case is solved if they want the economy of that island to survive. Release the brothers, put them under house arrest and let's see how confident and cocky Joran is after the brothers are released.

Yep, Mark got hosed into the limelight. Now he's a star, but where are the others, including OJ, Johnny Cochran, etc.?

O - Anything about this investigation trouble you?

Robert Strang - they don't have a lot of this kind of crime. Not a lot of homicide/kidnapping. Police trying to do their job.

O - each state has their own investigators. The Jessie case was botched. It feels like something is not there in ARuba - I can['t put my finger on it.

Robert - they had to let them out - no bodies, no crime - let them out to surveil. The dutch are going to get this right.

O - you can see the strain on the family. Last we talked the Arubans got mad @ me calling them a drug place

Robert - the proximity to Colombia - ships and airliners leaving every day. Hundreds of pounds of heroin & cocaine found there every year. Last thing they need is to have people look @ Aruba as a drug haven. Cases in the past, stats speak for themselves. Can't deny drugs pass through there.

Robert Strang - the idea is to get info on the case - no one is saying anything.

John - what about the "you're guilty so tell us" technique?

Robert - Good guy/bad guy technique - try to convince him to do the right thing.

John - Joran & the Kalpoes have all admitted they lied

Robert - minor lie - we're still not getting the details or a confession.

John - 17 y/o JVDS - self confident is getting hammered. His father knows the law - what's the interrogation of the father like?

Robert - they are pushing him. I think there are other things involved w/arresting the father. The hard drives, etc.

John - still no body - why would anyone confess?

Robert - that's the issue here - no body, no confession, no case.

I just listened to Greta again. I think the phone call was made to Natalee's cell phone in Aruba. I'm assuming Beth got the message from Natalee's cell phone when she got there and picked up Natalee's phone. The person who contacted Charles Croes was in the states and was a mutual friend of Jug and Beth's. That is just my opinion not a fact.
