'Desperate SOS' for New Orleans

Thursday, September 1, 2005; Posted: 2:53 p.m. EDT (18:53 GMT)

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana (CNN) -- New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin issued "a desperate SOS" for the thousands of people stranded in an around the city's convention center with no food or water and fading hope.

CNN's Chris Lawrence described "many, many" bodies, inside and outside the facility on New Orleans' Riverwalk.

The alert comes as violence and lawlessness disrupted efforts to get help to people around the city.

Charity Hospital has halted patient evacuations because it has come under sniper fire, according to Dr. Tyler Curiel, who witnessed the incident.

As an ex-Social worker I will explain it to you: These people are lazy, uneducated, drug addicted scumbags who are used to everyone making excuses for why they are nothing but primal preditors-under taxpayers care.
America is codependent when it comes to the inner city thugs, and now we reap the whirlwind.""

Thank you for your comment. I and many others could NOT have said it any better. This is the 3-4 generation product of giving them welfare and teaching them nothing.
President Johnson better be rolling in his grave. I for one am very tired of paying to produce predators in my midst.

It should not have to take a reconvening of congress to gain control over a city. The reality is that these people have lived with this way of living for so long they don't even recognize how awful it is. This kind of stuff happened in their neighborhoods everyday, now it is happening in broad day light for the world to see. Whose fault? Not mine.

I think they've probably convinced themselves they are acting as revolutionaries and trying to change the system they have been programmed to hate.

The only problem is that they are too stupid to know their reign of crime can only be short-lived. They have no avenue of escape.

"I can't imagine the prospect of a firefight between looters and the NG in an American city.

"F'in nightmare scenario."

Be not afraid. We, the people, will join the NG and lend a helping hand.

We must find out the root causes.

Agreed, we as Freepers need to embrace these people and discover the cause of their anger.......while they are destroying civilization.

There is no way to keep weapons out of the hands of humans except if they see that they will be better off just being law-abiding citizens.

This is unreal, truly unreal. I think looting was expected, but not open warfare. This wasn't checked in the beginning but must be vanquished now ASAP. We cannot let a city be taken over by Mad Max types.

I agree. Most of america is above this type of behavior and wether we like the job or not, we set an example for the rest of the world. I can't believe how quickly these savages starting acting this way.

Time to bring in Marine snipers and unleash them on the savages.

The time for feely good political correct coddling of these animals is past. They obviously care nothing for their country or its laws. Remove them from the gene pool.

These are criminals who are committing crimes because they can. They also know that so long as they prolong chaos they can enjoy their power trip. Some are probably hoping for months in a Mad Max world.

No need to debate it now. We will see what happens over the next few months. Perhaps, we will even be visited by a few more Katrinas. :-(

Maybe these looters don't know that the city is gone for months. ? So the dumbsh!ts are loading houses with tv's etc. Thinking they hit the big time.

Time to bring in Marine snipers

These looters may be tougher than Iraqi/Saudi/Syrian/Jordanian suicide bombers. Some of them no doubt have the best military training in the world courtesy Uncle Sam.

Totally crazy. Had the able followed the call to evacuate, the resources in place would be suffecient to handle the unable and there would be no problems like we are seeing. EVERY able bodied man or woman who stayed behind should be charged with manslaughter.

I am very disheartened that this could happen in America. When this is all settled, Louisiana needs to issue an apology to the rest of the US for shaming the nation with these antics.

"...treat these looters as enemy combatants and fight them.

A little of that from real soldiers and they would melt away. These are criminals not fighters.

I would be careful how much of this emergent reporting I believe.
The MSM is going to try to paint this as a huge failure for Bush and has already done this, you can hear the line in the rhetoric of the reporting.
People feeling abandoned, next thing will be interviews where people say how they were forced to loot or die.

In other words don't believe everything you hear sonny...
