Some reporters have said that criminal gangs were planning to go in and loot New Orleans immediately after the hurricane.

Americans need to know if indeed criminal gangs are the ones responsible for the chaos.

Just a fact. Sixty-seven percent of the population is black. What has happened to almost all inner cities is a part of black culture. Not trying to be a racist, but stating facts that we all know. They are easily proved. Many black people overcome great odds and become great Americans. They do so by first becoming civilized in their behavior. Any society must behave in a civilized way to succeed. This is also the reason for the urban blight. Civilized people with families will naturally flee from those who act like savages. There are plenty of white people who refuse to be civilized in their behavior and are known as white trash. Those who behave like savages in the good times will behave even worse in the bad times whatever the color of their skin.

I have great respect for those NG troops who have served in the Sand Box, but fear for those who have never seen anything like this before. We used to call them the K-Mart Army once upon a time. You heard, didn't you, that they released all the inmates from the NO jail earlier in the week? They're probably cracked-up or speeding by now, like `skinnies' on chat. If armed, they probably can't hit the side of a building and they have no RPGs, at least that we know of.
I saw the Louisiana governor on TV just before the storm hit. She didn't look like she could run a two-car funeral.
This situation can only get worse. Someone has to make the decision to assault these people shooting rescuers, and make them dead. Now.

I would not rule out terrorist cells in the usa seeing this as an opportunity to make a trouble. No sane criminal or criminal gang would fire on Rescue helicopters, just does not make sense. However a terrorist under the cover of lawless, flooded city would see it as a target of opportunity. Whatever, send in Special Forces to take'em out before they lose themselves in the exodus.
