The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Home grown Islamists may hit US: FBI chief
Full Story

WASHINGTON -- The United States could be attacked by "home grown" Islamist terror groups, the FBI's chief has warned.

FBI Director Robert Mueller told the London Financial Times newspaper in an interview published Thursday that the United States could face attacks from "home-grown terrorism" very similar to the July 7 bombings in London that killed 52 people and wounded another 700, Mueller said.

When asked if the United States could face such attacks from "home-grown groups", Mueller answered emphatically: "Absolutely, it could," the Financial Times said.

Thank you for the compliments.....

I have attempted to read some of the old cosmetic/perfume recipes, but could only guess.

Yes, I would think that this salve would be a very good one.

Many people think that corn oil is better for the skin than even the olive or almond oils.

Many do not know that it does not need all the additives and
use it as it comes or add a few drops of the essential oils to it, or of course, you can get into the the cocoa butter and beeswax, if you want it to be more like store bought.

If one reads the labels on cosmetics, it will send you a message of "Chemicals and more Chemicals" and very little of what is good for you.

Has this already been posted... From Reuters:

Bomb threat blamed for monument closure

14.10.05 9.20am

WASHINGTON - US authorities closed the Washington Monument today for unspecified reasons, less than one week after a telephone bomb threat prompted them to evacuate the popular tourist attraction.

A local television station said the landmark on the National Mall was closed because of a new telephoned bomb threat, but Sergeant Scott Fear of the US Park Police declined to give a reason for the closure.

"The Washington Monument is temporarily closed and we are looking into a situation. We don't expect it to be closed long and that's all I can say right now," Fear said.

Surrounding streets have not been closed off, Fear said.

The 169.16m obelisk, named to honour the first US president, George Washington, was closed for two hours on October 7 after a telephoned bomb threat.

I just posted an update on that wierd case in San Diego.

Law enforcement is calling it drug-related:

Update on the strange story of Khaled Yasufi

SignOnSanDiego.com has published an update on Khaled Yasufi, the San Diego student who committed suicide after law enforcement was called to his apartment by other residents of the area who smelled chemicals.

Michelle Malkin had called our attention to the initial report earlier this week.

We had wondered what was up with all those chemicals, especially given the absence of any mention of drugs in the initial reports.

But based on this update, it appears that Law Enforcement has decided this man was simply brewing ecstacy.

Ecstasy lab found where man took his own life

UNIVERSITY CITY – A drug lab capable of turning out 150,000 Ecstasy pills was found inside a man's apartment after he committed suicide with police outside his door last week, authorities said.

"This was a very sophisticated operation," Drug Enforcement Administration spokesman Misha Piastro said yesterday. "It had the capacity to produce an awful lot of Ecstasy."

The man who shot and killed himself Oct. 7 was identified by the Medical Examiner's Office as Khaled Yusufi, 29, a medical student.

San Diego police were called to Yusufi's second-story apartment at Costa Verde Village, on Costa Verde Boulevard, about 1 p.m. by a neighbor who reported a strong odor coming from the unit.

Officers knocked on Yusufi's door to check on his welfare, but he stepped outside and told them, "There's nothing wrong here," police said. He went back inside, closed the door, and minutes later officers heard a single gunshot from inside.

Unsure who had fired the gun or why, officers called in a SWAT team, and hundreds of nearby tenants were evacuated for hours. About 7 p.m., SWAT officers directed a robot into Yusufi's apartment. A video camera showed his body, a handgun and a chemical lab in the bathroom, police said.

Officers entered the apartment and confirmed that Yusufi had shot himself. A hazardous materials team spent hours removing chemicals, including acetone and liquid drain cleaner used to make Ecstasy.

Authorities found 7,000 tablets later identified as Ecstasy, a club drug similar to methamphetamine. The pills would sell for $84,000 on the street, Piastro said.

"With all the chemicals and glassware on the premises, the lab could produce 150,000 more tablets," Piastro said. "Labs this size are very rare (in San Diego County)."

He said the DEA continues to investigate, hoping to learn how long Yusufi may have been producing illegal drugs and how he distributed them.

Yusufi was not under investigation by the DEA before the events Oct. 7, Piastro said.

ExSoldier...I have been thinking the same thing about the bird flu and all the hoopla splashed on the MSM everyday. Posse Commitatus is a bit much for the 165 deaths that have occured in mainly poor rural areas. So the urgency seems somewhat overdone...unless like you stated there is "something else"...I am apt to go with the latter.

Hi V...the one that was shown with most of the recent articles on this knucklehead is the one on the right....which would show that he had shaved his beard since the time of the picture on the left. And that would mean absolutely nothing if he hadn't stolen and $7 million dollar jet...turned off the transponder and transported 5 buddies over a major U.S. city un-noticed.

I just posted a link that is to an Australian paper and says that it fears the bird flu will be used as a bio weapon. My thought is that the President knows more than we and thinks we are going to get hit with the flu as a weapon.

Bioweapons are very fickle things that can as easily turn upon the creators as much as the targets, especially such things as flu varients. To weaponize a flu that still hasn't reached the human-human mutation and only barely animal-human is likely beyond most technologies.

Laura, I see that you now have a book published! wonderful, did you send a copy to Michael Savage, he might enjoy it.

Your post on "How Many cells are here", reminded me that I had meant to check out a book that I heard about on the radio:

Fixing the Insanity
by Neville w. Cramer

http://www.fixingtheinsanity.com/

The wake up America Foundation is giving it out for a $25.00
donation to them, Mr. Cramer has donated a bunch of them for fund raising for the group. (You must state that you want the book, or it is considered a donation only).

He was on the Mark Edwards program, on KDWN radio, they say
you can listen on the computer at :

unite to fight.org

Now as to why I had noted all these fine facts, LOL.

Mr Cramer was a Border Patrolman, for many years (30?), this is about the things that happened to him and his efforts to do his job.

Mark asked about all the photos of muslim men that is inside the book, I get the impression that the cover is where the photos are.

Mr. Cramer said "In 1980 there was a protest at the White House, we took photos of 172 muslims, plus 22 others and were not allowed to even identify them, as Carter ordered us not to do so."

These photos have never been identified or even checked out.

Of course, today, they would be the fathers of the men who are killing us today. Figure each man had 10 to 20 kids, and you have your army many times over.

I was hoping to see the photos and see how many are in the news today.

Thank you for your website, I did not have any trouble reading it......with my granny machine.

Power failure hits CDC germ lab (Fort Collins, CO)
Rocky Mountain News ^ | October 13, 2005 | Jim Erickson, Rocky Mountain News

Posted on 10/14/2005 8:13:53 AM PDT by LurkedLongEnough

A power failure knocked out the security system at a federal germ lab
in Fort Collins for 13 hours Monday and disabled freezers housing
thousands of vials of plague and other potential bioweapons.

A backup generator kicked on when the power failed.

But an electrical short prevented the backup power from being routed
through the building, said Colorado State University spokesman Brad
Bohlander.

As a result, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention laboratory
was without power for 13 hours, beginning at 3:07 p.m. Monday,
Bohlander said. CSU owns the building and leases it to the
government. No germ collections were damaged, the public was not
endangered, and no security breach occurred, said CDC spokeswoman
Jennifer Morcone.

The Fort Collins CDC lab, which opened in 1967, is known as the
Division of Vector-Borne Infectious Diseases.

It houses freeze-dried samples of about 1,000 plague strains, along
with smaller collections of two other potential bioweapons, tularemia
and Venezuelan equine encephalitis.

West Nile virus and the microbes that cause Lyme disease and yellow
fever also are stored at the lab, which is west of downtown Fort Collins
on Colorado State's Foothills Campus.

A new $80 million CDC lab is being built adjacent to the aging facility.
It is scheduled for completion next year.

Sen. Wayne Allard and other members of the Colorado congressional
delegation pushed hard to get funding for the new lab. In the wake of
the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and the anthrax-letter incidents
that followed, Allard stressed the current lab's security shortcomings.

In a February 2002 letter to the Health and Human Services secretary,
Allard said the lab's run-down state constitutes a "bioterrorism
security breach."

On Wednesday afternoon, two members of Allard's staff visited the lab
for a briefing about Monday's power failure. An incident report is being
prepared.

"The senator will take a look at that report, and if there are concerns,
he'll address them," said Carolyn Williams, Allard's Colorado press
secretary.

"But what we've heard so far is that things were handled very well,"
she said.

Lab employees were off for the Columbus Day holiday when Monday's
power outage occurred. The problem was traced to water that leaked
into the room that houses the lab's main electrical system, causing a
short that knocked out power, Bohlander said.

Extra security guards were posted during the blackout, which disabled
the lab's video surveillance system and the electronic card keys that
control access to restricted areas, Morcone said.

"FBI: Man punched out plane window
'Perhaps it was some sort of psychotic episode'"

Friday, October 14, 2005; Posted: 9:46 a.m. EDT (13:46 GMT)

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "TAMPA, Florida (AP) -- A passenger woke up from a nap, raised his fist and punched out the interior pane of an airplane window on a flight from Las Vegas to Florida, authorities said.

Ryan J. Marchione, 24, shattered the inner plastic shield covering the glass window and disconnected its frame about 90 minutes into the America West flight, according to an FBI affidavit.

The outer window was not damaged and the plane did not depressurize, the airline said.

Marchione was arrested when the plane landed Wednesday at Tampa International Airport."

The 1918 flu is at the Atlanta lab, Calpernia, is that where the rats were stolen from?

Could the 1918 flu be the reason for stealing them?

>> More than 1,000 people on all sides have died in southern Thailand since January 4, 2004 when the smoldering rebellion flared in a so-called "night of the fires" attack on security forces, including synchronized arson assaults on 21 schools and a massive raid on a military base that netted the rebels hundreds of guns and heavy weapons. <<

Unless we wake up, this is what is heading our way. I'm heading out of the office now. May go camping this weekend, haven't decided yet.

Have a great weekend folks.

Sounds like a plot from Alias when they disable security equipment to gain access to places to steal stuff.

Unforgiveable that the backup power failed.
