The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Home grown Islamists may hit US: FBI chief
Full Story

WASHINGTON -- The United States could be attacked by "home grown" Islamist terror groups, the FBI's chief has warned.

FBI Director Robert Mueller told the London Financial Times newspaper in an interview published Thursday that the United States could face attacks from "home-grown terrorism" very similar to the July 7 bombings in London that killed 52 people and wounded another 700, Mueller said.

When asked if the United States could face such attacks from "home-grown groups", Mueller answered emphatically: "Absolutely, it could," the Financial Times said.

Don't know why that won't come up, it did for me before, here's a snippet of the L-train article:

'L' train derails on Chicago's North Side

This story ran on nwitimes.com on Monday, October 3, 2005 1:24 PM CDT

CHICAGO (AP) -- A five-car train being used by Chicago Transit Authority workers derailed early Monday, disrupting the morning commute for tens of thousands of North Side residents.

No injuries were reported, and service was fully restored by 12:30 p.m. Investigators did not immediately know what caused the train to derail.

The train derailed just before 3 a.m. near the Belmont Avenue station, a transfer point for commuters who use the Red, Brown and Purple lines, CTA spokeswoman Kimberly Myles said.

You're right about rama-dama-ding-dong starting tonight. Also read that there was a solar eclipse today. Didn't know about that.

Another train derailed for no known reason.

Lots of fires in the west, all with no known reason for them starting.

Thank you for the links above, I see they are still attempting to alert us of a possible nuclear attack.

You may want to listen to the Border program on KDWN tonight at 10 pm, pacific time.

Mike Cutler is the normal guest on Monday night, he is interesting, has been a Border Patrolman.

You're welcome, granny. That incident with the "toys" was one I never forgot -- it made my blood boil.

"Does this stolen candy fall into the stolen formula group? I am thinking of the "Dented cans" stores we have here, they would be a likely place to sell a case or two of candy."

Hmmm.... We have several of those stores near where I live; I shop there frequently for the unbelievable bargains.

Whoever says that Islam is free from terrorism or wants to differentiate between Islam and terrorism is committing Al Juhoud and that is Kufr Akbar – and will take them out of the fold of Islam.

The one who says `we should fight against terrorism', he is fighting against Islam. We know very well that USA meant no one else by the term `terrorists' but Islam and Muslims and the one who wants to avoid terrorism is avoiding Islam."

Islam does not recognise any difference between the kuffar, they are either zhimmi (under the Islamic state) or mu'ahhed (has covenant with a Muslim), or he is harbi and has no sanctity for his life or wealth.

There is no such thing as an `innocent' kafir, innocence is only applicable for the Muslims; do not say `innocent' for the kafir, the most you can say for them is that they are `victims'. The Muslim however, is innocent even if he engages to fight and conquer the kafir, because he is fulfilling the shari'ah.

Since lawful warfare is essentially Jihad and since its aim is that religion is entirely for Allah and the word of Allah is uppermost, therefore, according to all Muslims, those who stand in the way of this aim must be fought.

As for those who cannot offer resistance or cannot fight, such as women, children, monks, old people, the blind, handicapped and their likes, they shall not be killed, unless they actually fight with words [e.g. by propaganda] and acts [e.g. by spying or otherwise assisting in the warefare]. Some [jurists] are of the opinion that all of them may be killed, on the mere ground that they are unbelievers, but they make an exception for woman and children sind they constitute property for Muslims.

Allah revealed Islam in order that humanity could be governed according to it. Unbelief is darkness and disorder. So the unbelievers, if they are not suppressed, create disorder. That is why the Muslims are responsible for the implementation of Allah's Law on the planet, that humanity may be governed by it, as opposed to corrupt man-made laws. The Muslims must make all efforts to establish the religion of Allah on the earth.

'The fighting,' even though by its nature is disliked by the human soul because of the liability of being killed, or being taken as a captive, or being injured, with the wasting of wealth, the damaging of the industries, the destruction to the country, the spreading of fear and awe in the souls and the possibility of being exiled from one's homeland, Allah had made ready an immensely good reward that cannot be imagined by a human soul."

And it is they, (Mujahideen) who fight against the enemies of Allah in order that the worship be all for Allah (alone and not for any other deity) and that of the Word of Allah (i.e. none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and his religion, Islam) should be superior

And you will not find any organization past or present, religious or non-relgious as regards ordering the whole nation to march forth and mobilize all of them into active military service as a single row for Jihad in Allah's Cause so as to make superior the Word of Allah (i.e. none has the right to be worshipped but Allah), as you will find in the Islamic Religion and its teachings."

18 killed, 100 hurt in train crash

Excerpt:

October 03, 2005

A CROWDED train sped through a railway station in central India, jumped the tracks and crashed into a signal cabin overnight, killing 18 passengers and injuring about 100, authorities said.

The death toll was likely to rise as many passengers remained trapped inside the carriages and 40 of the injured were in a critical condition, they said.

Six coaches of the Bundelkhand Express derailed near Datia town in Madhya Pradesh, about 400km north of the state capital, Bhopal, a police officer said.

He said the train derailed near the Datia station and rescue teams, including soldiers, had reached the site and were removing passengers from the cars.

The officer said the train had been due to stop at the station but sped through and jumped the tracks in an area where coaches are serviced and cleaned.

"We suspect the brakes of the train failed," he said........

Excerpt: "The train's speed limit was supposed to be 15km/h but as far as I have been able to find out, it was going at 90 at the station," said Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav.

An Uneasy Alliance
By Tashbih Sayyed
FrontPageMagazine.com | October 3, 2005

As a close U.S. ally in the war against terror, Pakistan has been designated a "major non-North Atlantic Treaty Organization ally," allowing the Islamic Republic to join an elite group of nations, which are granted significant benefits in the area of foreign aid and defense co-operation.

But when it comes to the U.S. war on Islamist Terror, this alliance, on close examination, does not translate into a fruitful relationship. Terrorism in Afghanistan does not show any signs of going away, anti-American sentiments are on the rise in Pakistan, and religious extremism continues to gain new ground.
