Some would probably attribute it to the global impact of Viagra and Cialis manufacturing.

I just knew there had to be a drawback to Viagra!

No doubt there is an abundance of stiff competition out their to rebutt my claim however.

Their measurements were taken before the earthquake. They might need to run up there and do a remeasure.

It's Harriet Mier's fault.

Bradford Washburn's 1999 measurement was accepted by U.S. and Chinese scientists and cartographers and National Geographic before becoming legitimate.

This new one appears not to have been accepted by anyone but the Chinese and the MSM at this juncture.

So the verdict is not in.

Maybe they should have used an American GPS unit, instead of a good-good Chinese discount unit returned from Wal-Mart.

And guided missile technology only cost them a paltry $500,000 to the 'toon's re-election campaign via Loral.

No doubt, cold weather induced shrinkage.

Probably because global warming melted 12 feet of ice from the peak. Paging Al Gore...

Bradford Washburn hauled a bunch of expensive and heavy GPS equipment up there to get the 29,035 foot figure.

Although I'm sure that Chinese technology is progressing nicely, I'm sticking with Washburn's figure till I see good reason to do otherwise.

"a congressional panel better be put together!" Good idea. Appoint a fact finding commission. Put all the more objectionable types on it (hillary, kennedy, frank, rangel,- you get the drift)

Uuhhhh..., they're Senators.

Uuhhhh... at the time I last checked, the Senate was one of the Congress' chambers, thus a part of Congress. Things might have changed since, though. And frank and rangel are representatives, aren't they? Thus the suggestion was to form a proper, combined, bicameral congressional commission.

The world's highest mountain, Mount Everest, is 12 feet shorter than previously thought

No. They measured it right the first time.

It's getting shorter because the Earth sucks.
