If he did....I didn't hear it...sorry.

But, I missed some of the show also. I missed Congressman Billy Bob's essay that Rush read...darn.

He did say yesterday or the day before, that even though a caller asked him who he would like to see run in 08, he didn't want to name names because he was afraid he would forget someone...

Then, he said that he has been impressed with Sen. George Allen...and that is the only person he mentioned.

Therefore, I think you and all of us freepers that are Pence fans...need to e-mail Rush about him and forward some of the articles about him.

I KNOW Rush reads this site though...because I have heard him make comments verbatim the day after someone says them here on FR...

So,,, Rush----Maha Rushie...take a long look at Mike Pence, please!!!

I found what he said from Limbaugh.com

"Well, maybe at some point that was an analogy that might have had some weight. The problem is, the conservative movement is the Republican Party today at the grassroots -- and you know, I had a great idea yesterday for the next issue of my newsletter with Mike Pence, congressman from Indiana about the efforts in the House of Representatives to toe the line on spending and to finally get something done on set-asides so that we don't break the bank, start borrowing more money for whatever disaster relief comes up after hurricanes Katrina and Rita and the flooding up in New Hampshire and all the rain that's going on in the Northeast right now. It's very uplifting to hear him talk about things. Can I tell you one thing he told me? Just one thing, I don't want to give the whole thing away. He said that to this day what remains of the most powerful influences on members of Congress -- outside of this program, of course -- is legitimately made and legitimately written phone calls and letters from the same ZIP code of the district of the congressman. He says you would be surprised at the number of congressmen who wanted no part of cutting the budget; they wanted no part of sounding like they were going against the grain here to reduce spending, but then when their constituents started telling them that they wanted them, these congressmen, to get on board. Some of them came to Mike Pence and said, "I want to hear more about what you're doing. I might want to join your effort here." It's what I've always said: You inform the people and you get them educated, get them participating, as you people do, and that's the way things happen."

That "secretary" comment of Coulters really gets under my skin. Back in the 80's I got my MBA (non Ivy League) and worked my way into bank management in NYC at Chase earning the title "Assistant Secretary". It was low level management but it was management. Twenty some years later and I still have to answer what my secretarial skills were at Chase.

Red, I am sorry for the indignities you suffered. That isn't right. I have two daughters, and I don't want them to have to be pigeon holed that way either.

But this isn't about you. It is about the future of the Court, and our Nation.

Miers is the wrong choice.

Hey...that sounds great....and if he is interviewing Pence for his newsletter...even better.

The only bad news is that he wants letters from people in his zip code...which I am not..

And my congressman..Joe Barton, seems to be on board with most of what Pence wants...BUT, I will write him some letters just to nudge him a little more...and also mention Pence's name...it couldn't hurt to have Barton know that Pence has a lot of fans.

Y'all are the first to let me know that this happened. Thank you. (This is the third time that Rush has quoted me on-air in the last year. I'm delighted.

Thank you for your clarity. It is badly needed.

Rush should be grateful he had you to quote (IMHO).

I think the Kennedy/McCain Immigration Bill is like you described...but the Kyl/Cornyn Bill..that is more like Bush wants..has a guest-worker program...

I don't recall the Kyl/Cornyn bill offhand, but I do know that Kennedy/McCain has amnesty and I do NOT support it (another reason McCain is DOA in 2008).

Also, I saw on Fox tonight that a poll showed that 51% of Americans favor a wall built between the Mexico and USA borders...

I am also for a wall as you can tell from my FR "about" page.

You are not mad that the troops are still in Iraq....you want more troops??? Bush SAYS he has ordered as many sent as the field Generals ask for...so either we believe him and blame the military...

More troops is not necessarily the answer and I believe that if the Commanders on the ground wanted more they would get more. If not, armchair quareterbacks as myself shouldn't claim we need more. I simply want what the troops in Iraq want, proper equipment, training, and to be left alone to do their job and win - not to have to look over their shoulder for a camera or call a lawyer to check what they can or can't do on the battlefield (I'm exaggerating of course).

Or call Bush a liar...and blame him for not enough troops...I just don't know the answer to that one...

Not at all. I only wish that he would unleash our military to do their job and defeat the enemy where we find them in Iraq, Syria, Iran, etc.

So..Bush should not be blamed totally for the deficit spending, or all of the other things...CONGRESS needs to take their share...and, having watched the coverage on C-span as much as I have...

The buck stops, or is spent, with his signature. If he vetoed spending and sent it back for a good trimmin' now and then we'd be much better off.

I and many other freepers have come to the conclusion that Congress is broken and needs to be fixed...

That's an understatement! ;)

And, along with that...Bush needs to listen to the RIGHT people...LIKE YOU!!! LOL

I have opinions and express them here. Some may be good/right, some may be bad/wrong. I am only human and therefore fallable. If only some FReepers would understand the President is, too.

I'm afraid you're wrong about that last point. I make no claim to "good lookin'". I settle, instead, for a revised line from Gilbert & Sullivan: "He could easily pass for 43, in the suck with the light behind him." LOL.

Get a grip. I didn't accuse you of anything. Stop looking to be offended.

One of the 1st questions on FR after Miers was named was if she was a lesbian. Did I say you posted the question? No, I didn't. I could give a flying flip who you lump me in with. Your opinion doesn't phase me. And who is "you all"? I haven't said a word about tearing the party apart. I don't think you or ones who agree with you are quite that powerful.

I knew your essay would be good...and I wasn't wrong...

Thank you for posting the transcript...so I could not only read your essay...but read it in context of Rush's monologue.

I have posted many time...and thought to myself hundreds of times...that American History HAS to be the worst taught subject in the Public School system...unless you want to count speaking English correctly...and how to balance a checkbook...but, I digress....

So many young people today have NO idea what our country has done that is noteworthy...and HARD.

This microwave world that they were born into is just too easy, and they have a hard time understanding the word or concept of PATIENCE....

However....I think that the ADULTS are the most guilty...because they don't have the excuse of growing up in the microwave world...

Whenever I hear O'Reilly or other TV people bemoaning that we have been in Iraq WAY TOO LONG....and we need to think about bringing the troops home, and admitting we can't do this...

I wonder...how would any of these people eat, back when you had to wait for food to actually GROW before ready to eat...or a cow or pig had to mature to a big enough size to slaughter for food...or get milk from..

Ah...well...I am in a bad mood tonight...too much Bush bashing this week I think (from the conservatives)...I have gotten used to the media and dems doing it...but the conservatives have worn me out.

I apologize if I didn't make any sense in my ranting and raving...but, I thank you for your essay, truly great writing..and helpful, too!!!

Thank you very much.

Like the late, great Ralph McGill of the (formerly) great Atlanta Constitution once said to me, "I don't write my newspaper for people who move their lips when they read." The same goes for my articles.
