Michael and Cathryn Borden, both 50, were found slain shortly after 8 a.m. in their home at 15 Royal Drive in Warwick Township, about 60 miles west of Philadelphia. That was the last time anyone saw their daughter Kara Beth Borden, 14.
Authorities issued an Amber Alert for Borden, who police say was taken by David G. Ludwig.
"We think they're boyfriend and girlfriend," said Lititz Police Chief William Seace.
Police say the couple's nine-year-old son David, the youngest of five children, had fled to a neighbor's house and called 9-1-1. An older daughter still living at home and two adult sons are also safe.

Frankly, that was my first thought. There was nothing in the story that mentions how anyone knew she was kidnapped. What about the other kids living at home? Where were they when all of this happened?
It sounds like she just mad that she couldn't be with her boyfriend and they cooked up this plan together. I would be glad to be proved wrong, but it doesn't seem likely.

I don't think bringing the moderator's family into the complaint was proper.

Neighbor said the suspect was smart, slightly withdrawn, into playing chess. Another neighbor said she knew him and would have never expected this sort of thing from him. Looks like a really nice, upper-middle-class neighborhood.
"She's 14?" Yes, I noticed this also. She looks more like a very shophisticated 25-year old. Very strange.
It is not strange at all these days.
girls her age are now allowed to wear much make up and clothes that we would normally think are for older young women.
I pray for her safety and for the other children left without their parents.
