The way this world is today, it wouldn't shock me to learn that they were BOTH behind the murder. It's certainly happened before.
Frankly, that was my first thought. There was nothing in the story that mentions how anyone knew she was kidnapped. What about the other kids living at home? Where were they when all of this happened?
It sounds like she just mad that she couldn't be with her boyfriend and they cooked up this plan together. I would be glad to be proved wrong, but it doesn't seem likely.
Happened here in SE Virginia (Gloucester County) about 15-20 years ago. A 14-15 year old girl was involved in the setup murder of both her parents by a "love struck" 18-19 year old. I believe he is on death row and she was released from juvenile prison/detention when she turned 18.
That was my first thought when I heard that she was his "secret girlfriend," and not many parents of 14 year olds want their daughter dating an 18 year old. Thoughts, Joanie?
