TRY AGAIN, MR. PRESIDENT -- THOSE WERE EMPTY WORDS [The Presidnet's Amnesty Program]
Neal Boortz ^ | Nov. 29, 2005 | Neal Boortz

Posted on 11/29/2005 5:25:04 AM PST by conservativecorner

Yesterday, George W. Bush strode to a podium in Tucson, Arizona (I love Tucson!) and against a backdrop of law enforcement officers, announced his latest plan to crack down on illegal aliens. There was nothing in his speech we haven't heard before, and his new immigration policy is just as contradictory as the old one. Among the initiatives announced:

We should build more jail cells to hold illegal aliens. Good idea. The speeding up of deportations, a crackdown on fraudulent identity papers, and a hardening of the border with more surveillance. So far, so good. Then the nonsense started to flow. The president urged Congress to pass his guest-worker amnesty program and repeated the nonsense that the illegal aliens are here "to fill jobs that Americans will not do."

Same old, same old. It is impossible to stand there and say you're going to crack down on illegal immigration while at the same time say that you are going to reward people who broke our immigration laws. The president says it's not amnesty. Ok, now we've finally caught the president in a lie. OF COURSE it's amnesty! When you tell someone who has broken the law that you are not only going to ignore their illegal conduct, but you are actually going to reward them for it, then you have more than plain old garden variety amnesty, you have amnesty with perks!

As for the oft-repeated line that the illegal aliens fill jobs Americans won't, that's also a load. Companies may not be able to fill those jobs with Americans at the same low wages they pay Mexicans, but there are plenty of people in this country that would do the work at the right price. OK .. so the price of headless chickens, landscaping and construction might go up, but at least the people receiving those paychecks would be law-abiding residents of this country, most of whom would be citizens. There is something wrong with the idea of celebrating lower home prices when those lower prices are brought with disrespect for the laws of our country. It gets worse than that. We are threatening our very security by singing the praises of illegal aliens in our workforce. Just two weeks ago we were interviewing a Texas congressman who was telling us that U.S. intelligence agencies have knowledge that Al Qaeda terrorists have moved to Mexico, adopted Hispanic identities, learned the Spanish language, and then moved right into the United States across our porous borders.

George Bush failed to address the problem appropriately yesterday, but this isn't strictly a George Bush issue. There is absolutely no willingness on the part of either political party to crack down on illegal immigration. There are simply too many votes to be had in the Hispanic community. So as a result, our security as a nation is threatened and our cities and states are overrun with illegal aliens.

I'm sure representatives of Al-Qaeda are preparing to apply for their guest-worker permits as we speak.

Go read the Constitution, wherein it states the part I already mentioned.

I can't read it for you; I already know what it says....and I already told you what it says, in my previous post.

Perhaps you like reading and spouting fairy tales, instead.

All illegal aliens within the boarder need to hunted down and deported.

Does this include any of your relatives?

If you are talking about the MEXICAN BORDER, why do you not mention the other borders?

Doesn't this focus on the Mexican Border show RACIAL PREJUDICE?

White Canadians are OK, but greasy Mex's aren't?

We have illegal aliens, Bush has done nothing, hence he has violated his oath. What is so hard to comprehend?

Must you type racial slurs in your attempt to defend illegal aliens coming from our southern border, who are not comprised solely of illegal Mexicans? Approximately 54% of illegals from the southern border, btw, were born in Mexico.

........As has been pointed out in the past, NAME ONE THING ILLEGAL or WRONG President Bush as done.......

He has encouraged more illegal immigration by touting his guest worker/amnesty plan. That's a fact. Some would call that aiding and abeting illegal entry, by encouraging them. He has also failed to enforce our immigration laws, especially employer sanctions.

Encouraging/Inducing -- Subsection 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv) makes it an offense for any person who -- encourages or induces an alien to come to, enter, or reside in the United States, knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such coming to, entry, or residence is or will be in violation of law.

http://www.usdoj.gov/usao/eousa/foia_reading_room/usam/title9/crm01907.htm

Reportedly there was a survey done of illegals caught coming into the US and one of the questions asked was why and many responded because of Bush's amnesty. Then the WH tried to bury that survey. Shocking.

We have a system in place to accept legal aliens. I don't care if the rest are green and walk purple dogs if they are not here legally they should be deported. Enforcement is dropping off not picking up. Are we to expect a change? There is nothing to uphold what you say.

What an asanine thing to say.

For starters nowhere in my post did mention mexico, mexicans, latins or anyone else for that matter.

I don't care what country they are from. Guatamala, El Salvadore, Mexico or Syria.

Round all those up here illegally and deport them. Close the border and process legal requests against a quota.

Those with higher education and accomplishment get preferential review...

WHAT PART OF "ILLEGAL" IS SO HARD FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND?

If you are talking about the MEXICAN BORDER, why do you not mention the other borders?

Why? Do we have 30 million illegal Canadians running around the U.S. pillaging, raping, comitting high crimes, even as they consume our social services? Let me know, I always thought our border with Mexico was the bigger problem, and I would hate to be penny wise and dollar foolish.

Please explain how he could have done different without violating the structure and laws of our government.

Please refer to the table I posted in Post #398. You will see that in 2002 the Bush Administration fined only 13 employers of the hundreds of thousands who employ illegal aliens. In 2003 they only fined 124. When you compare that to the 20 million illegal aliens here, which equates to about that many illegal alien employment violations per year, then you get a statistical zero when it comes to interior enforcement of our immigration laws.

Bush sets the policy for his Administration. He is the executive and is responsible for the enforcement of our laws. These statistics, which came from DHS, prove that he was derelict in his duty to enforce the immigration laws in the interior.

The majority of illegal aliens are crossing the U.S./Mexican border. That's a solid fact, your attempt at distraction notwithstanding.

When someone is losing an argument, they tend to toss out the race card like a hand grenade. You just lost.

By the way, Einstein, just what specific "race" do you think Mexicans are?

Wouldn't your position be stronger if you gave the President the benefit of the doubt? Perhaps he has compassion for his sister in law and her family.

Perhaps he never hired illegal immigrants.

He believes very strongly that no one should stand in the way of liberty. I would like to see immigration differently but I respect his point of view as his.

I respect your opinion as enforcing the rule of law. Does this really require demonization?

This nation became GREAT by taking in the GREATNESS of MANKIND.

Our FOUNDING FATHERS were FRENCH, or RUSSIAN, or INDIAN, or IRISH, or BRITISH, or DANISH, or AFRICAN, or..... So were those who flock to these shores for the promise of a chance to OPENLY COMPETE FOR THE BEST OF LIFE.

As long as foreigners who "flock to these shores for the promise of a chance to OPENLY COMPETE FOR THE BEST OF LIFE" come here legally, I have absolutely no problem with that. But I do have a problem with foreigners who violate our immigration laws by coming to the United States illegally or by staying after their visas have expired.

If you CLOSE the borders, you have a serious financial collapse from various sectors of the involved countries.

When people talk of closing the borders, they're talking about closing the borders to illegal immigration and terrorism. They're not talking about closing the borders to commerce or to people legally crossing back and force.

The men that come across the border and work for contractors (against the law, only because the contractor WHO USUALLY IS AMERICAN, saves money by paying under the table) have to get to the hiring depot and take their chances. They are very orderly and behaved about the process, and show much more civility than AMERICAN women at KMART on the day after THANKSGIVING.

You're dead wrong about this. I have read numerous accounts of "day laborers" harassing women who walk by, of urinating in public, of littering, and of swarming around any vehicle that pulls into the parking lot of the stores that the "day laborers" are standing in front of and frightening the people in the vehicles who are there solely to patronize the stores.

They have the same goals as you and I.

They want to feed their families, and they want to be free some day.

Many Americans had ancestors, long ago, or even recently, who had and pursued those same goals.

Good. Then they can do what my ancestors did by applying from within their home countries to legally immigrate to the United States. There are millions of foreigners around the world right now who have already filed their paperwork and are now patiently waiting for their turn to legally come here.

WE DON"T WANT TO KEEP EVERYONE OUT. JUST THE BAD GUYS.

The vast majority of Americans want to keep out terrorists and illegal aliens.

Edjmucate your self by referring to The United States Constitution, Article II, Section 1 and 2....

And for gods sake...he is in violation of his oath and the law in not prosecuting or abating illegal immigration. You have it completely Backwards...

Section 1...

Before he enter on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation:--''I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.''

Section 2....

The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States

As has been pointed out in the past, NAME ONE THING ILLEGAL or WRONG President Bush as done.......

-----------------------------------------------

First of all, there is no reason to SHOUT. It doesn't make anyone smarter, just louder.

Secondly, I never wrote a word about Bush doing anything illegal or wrong so I am at a loss to understand why you included that notion in your rant. And his presumed honesty is not the point anyway.

The point is two fold;

1) micro...the illegals deal and whether or not one agrees with it.

2)macro...whether or not one is even allowed to disagree without being labelled a liberal enabler by the bots.

You make no statement regarding your opinion of the first and seem to agree with the bots on the second.

1. Please put away your Race Card and quit looking foolish.

2. How dare you refer to Mexicans as "greasy Mex's"! You ought to be ashamed of yourself for posting that derogatory comment. Have you always felt this way about Mexicans? You have lost all credibility on this forum by referring to Mexicans in that way.

We get a President who follows the law and yet the public wants to blame him for things that have not occurred due to the increase in surveillance and security so far.

Not true.

His "justice" dept. has fined far fewer illegal employers than Clinton. One year they went after 13 - Total.

Congress increased border agents by 2000 and Bush refused to fund them and allowed only 210 instead. He's since been pushed into doing so. The entire stall on the White House part is all here on FR. The surveylance equipment doesn't work. It was a contract by a relative of Homeland securty higher ups(more nepotism and cronyism). Bush has done everything he could to not address the problem.

He is just a man who believed what he was taught about God, the law, about civility, about chivalry and courtesy, about refusing to back down from principal and protection of the innocent.

Okay, let's take these in order.

Let's start at the most important one for most of us here at Free Republic. GOD. Reagan used the bully pulpit to push for religious liberty. Constantly, and effectively. GWB FINALLY, after dithering for five years, on his trip to China mentions the issue. An aide hands a list of prisoners of conscience we want released to the Chinese. And absolutely SQUAT happens.

Reagan wouldn't have even GONE to China, unless the list was pre-delivered and he saw results. That is how he did it with the Soviets. No releases. No conference. Reagan always went over the head of the MSM media filter, to use the National Prayer Breakfasts to make really important foreign policy speeches. GWB hasn't done ONE there. He is a joke with regard to his purported faith. He is doing a really good job of doing his alms in secret. But he is spending OUR money very much in public. And trying to take credit for it just like the liberals. If Reagan had witnessed the Blow-Off that Chi-Comms are doing, arresting home churches willy-nilly, persecuting to death many, I frankly think there would have NEVER been a grant of MFN to China on his watch, and there would even now be a massive U.S.-orchestrated effort to "take 'em out". Reagan had the guts to tell the Soviets "Nyet." to their demands. GWB simply ran away with his tail between his legs. He is letting Beijing have virtually every thing they demand. Continued MFN. Free reign to steal our intellectual property. And even the "Three No's" on Taiwan. Continued 100,000 Chi-Comm spies on our shores.

As for the LAW. GWB should know under the oathe of office, that no man is supposed to be above the law. We are expressly a nation of laws, not of men. Instead he has gone way out of his way to abet covering up the criminal conduct, and arrogance of power, of his predecessor. From John Huang, to Sandy the Hamburglar (with stuffed socks) to Able Danger. No prosecution of Hitlery for her campaign violations, or theft of the White House silverware.

All to the effect that the Presidents are above the law. I've got news for GWB and Cheney. No amount of sucking up to Xlinton will help restore respect for law, but it will do precisely the opposite. Nor will it guarantee that the democrats won't come after you when Madam Hitlery is in power after you. There is no honor among these particular thieves.

About Civility, chivalry courtesy. Is that what you call GWB's consciously DISREGARDING our own LAWS, and sovereignty?

About "refusing to back down from principal and protecting the innocent." The principals he is espousing trash the innocent American. He DEFAMES (LIES) about the Minutemen. So much for civility and courtesy. What else does he cavalierly lie about? So there is no virtue in his not backing down from such principles. The duplicitous deals with Fox. And implementing the CFR globalist agendas, step by step, against our nation. Sovereignty is the ultimate protection for the innocent. Its destruction, debases the Constitution, and renders it impotent.

You have swallowed the hogwash from the BushBots whole...and you should have known better...

GWB is in fact doing some good things, trying to reign in the CIA, but he didn't do this until his administration was "stung" by a CIA operation to entangle him in "WMD-Gate"...Joe Wilson, Valerie Pflame, and the 16 words. Whose bright idea was it to disavow those 16 words right away....George Tenet (Xlinton-appointed holdover) who "apologized" for them....when they were RIGHT?!

His failures to clean house have cost him dearly. Note the CONTINUED complete failure to clean house at the State Dept.

Finally, I note that you continue to mislead yourself, when you confuse closing a dangerously porous border, from illegal entry, with your RED HERRING issue of a complete shutoff in immigration...or of commerce. That is so "out there" I don't think it needs any further commentary, as it self-evidently a falsehood by you.
