Dang JeffAtlanta. We agree on the Bama D. And we never agree on anything.

You mean the game where the ref's gave a fumble and a touchdown to Texas?

The game there they ref let USC hold and didnt give Texas the interception in the 2nd qtr!

There's an SH in there somewhere! :)

Don't forget that Penn State also did not have the services of Derrick Williams against FSU. The kid is
electricity in motion. Penn State absolutely shut down an OSU offense that scored 24(25) points against Texas(and lost the game on a last minute touchdown pass), and then blew out Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl. This PSU defense was special. With the exception of their one long touchdown pass, FSU's offense never penetrated the red zone except in overtime. Now if Michael Robinson could hold on to the ball...

Perhaps you missed Nebraska's Tommie Frazier in the '96 Fiesta Bowl. Almost identical stats as Neb totally destroyed #2 and supposedly unbeatable Florida, 62-24

Vince Young reminds me ALOT of Tommie Frazier! To bad Tommie had blood clots i would have loved to see him in the NFL.

Carroll should have put more pressure on Vince in the first three quarters.

He'll get plenty of chances to learn humility in New Orleans...

That's what I am talking about. Alabama though having a great defense it would still get shredded by those two imposing offenses by 5 TDs.

That's been the knock on Mack Brown, too. He could recruit the talent but couldn't get them to play up to their potential.

OU stole Adrian Peterson and Rhett Bomar from Texas because they couldn't win big games.

OU's recruiting just got alot tougher.

Yes, the interception call was ugly too.

But the big calls went to Texas.....the refs gave Texas a 1st down with 2 minutes left when it should have been 4th and 5....did you ever see the 'facemask' play on replay? I did not.....just a little thin, IMho.

Fulmer is a great recruiter but he has underperformed in getting the most of that talent. Many experts thought the Vols would be playing in the Rose Bowl tonite.

Something went really wrong with Tennesse this year. With Cutcliff back as offensive coordinator, I think they will be a top 5 team again next year. (BTW, I am Bama fan so I say this with reluctance).

They just get blind stinking drunk hours before every game. I've been quite civil.

I was living and working in Europe at the time. Was it Spurrier who got spanked? If so, it couldn't have happened to a more deserving guy.

Vince Young reminds me of Steve McNair in his prime.

You weren't watching close enough then. They replayed it and it was clear, and it should have been a 15 yarder since the defender held on.

LOL, and don't tell anyone that this Longhorn was heartily cheering when OU beat (not an upset) FSU 13-2 for the championship a few years ago. And loved how the whole team gathered around the ESPN set after the game.

It was in the clubhouse. Lots of conflict on that team this year. They had a terrific D too. It was ranked in the top 5.
