Urgent Prayer Request: Pastor and Wife in Auto Accident (Update at #152)
Word from my Dad | 02/16/2006 | Aracelis

Posted on 02/16/2006 10:20:55 PM PST by Aracelis

Earlier this evening, our pastor and his wife were involved in a terrible auto accident near Rockford, Illinois. Carlton is 67, and Lily is 65. Neither have been in good health for quite some time, and Lily suffered a major stroke several months ago which has left her unable to feed or care for herself.

Both Carlton and Lily have suffered multiple fractures of the ribs and hips as a result of this accident. Carlton's blood pressure is dangerously low, and he is really not aware of his surroundings. As Lily cannot talk, no one is quite sure just yet of her level of awareness.

Compounding this problem is their financial state. The church has never seen fit to pay Carlton very much for his dedication and devotion, nor have they provided any sort of medical insurance for Carlton and Lily. My Dad has had to fight tooth-and-nail just to get minimal raises for Carlton over the years.

Their daughters, Carlene and Joanna, have been doing their best to care for their parents, but neither of them are in good health either...Joanna had a heart attack a few years ago.

Would you please pray for miraculous healing for these two very precious souls? Joanna needs prayer support also, as she was driving at the time they were broadsided, and feels very guilty.

Thank you all so very much!

Watch, O Lord, with those who wake, or

Cindy, these are such wonderful people, and so filled with the Spirit. I wish you could meet them. They've endured everything satan could throw at them, and yet they remain committed to our Lord and each other.

I'm very shook up at the moment, so I hope everyone forgives my spelling and syntax errors. Just have a bad feeling in my gut about this. Hopefully, I'm wrong.

No further word yet. Tests are ongoing.

Heavenly Father, we return to thank You that Your Servants are ever in Your care ... were it not so, we could never hope to be sustained during the trials that come upon Your children. Look with greatest mercy upon Carlton and Lily as they lie upon beds of pain ... may Your wisdom flow through their caregivers, stabilizing and sustaining them in their hour of need. Knit again the bones that are broken ... stabilize all vital functions ... may each word to them be of encouragement and hope. Strengthen their hearts, for their trust has always been in You ... comfort their daughters, for great is their anguish as they look upon their beloved parents ... do for this family, O Lord, what only You can do ... may Your healing hand rest mightily upon them, to the Glory and Honor of Your Name. In the Name of Jesus, may it be thus, O Lord, may it be thus, Amen ...
