Trouble is I have been ignoring the Oscars since sometime in the '80's. So I guess not watching won't affect their ratings.
To: freedom4me
I haven't seen the Oscars since Ben Hur won.
Don't want to sully my record.

LOL! That's so true. I have watched every year for years. This year though, I really am boycotting. Hollywood has gotten completely out of hand with the politics in movies. I can't even say the last time I went to a movie and said, "Wow that was really good, that should win an Oscar". I can't remember the last time a movie came out that I was really anxious to see. It's been at least a few years now.
There is very little creativity left in Hollywood. All the movies have political agendas or they are movies about other celebs. Think about it. Ali, Ray Charles, Howard Hughes, and the list goes on.
If they decide to stick to just making movies to entertain us, rather than push a political agenda, maybe I'll watch them again.

Sorry, In order to boycott them I would have had to watch them in the past. Why would I waste my time watching a bunch of people, who only pretend to have intelligence, give themselves self congratulatory awards?

Is it a boycott if you never planned to watch them anyhow, and you haven't in many years?

Don't worry I will not be watching. I am tired of Hollywood trying to lecture me. I have not been to the movies in a while. I just cannot continue to give money to the hate America group. I do not understand how these actors can get such generosity from our country, and in return they spit on us. F* them!

They say that the Oscars are like the Super Bowl for women.
Time for some serious bitch slappin'.

I haven't watched the Academy awards since the '60s. But back then I was a liberal.

I want to see Mel Gibson speaking in Mayan, other than that the Oscars interest me zip. I'm sorry to hear he's at the Oscars, actually.
I look forward to seeing that, but I'll wait for the clip to be passed around the net.
LOL!
The Internet rules! We don't have to 'watch' the junk hollyweird produces, in order to see what interests us.

Here's an alternative...a new "War Stories" with Ollie North on Fox News Channel.
It's about the good old days when Hollywood actually was an American enterprise.
You know, when Hollywood supported the military. (OK, it was because our
gifts of planes and equipment saved the USSR from being overrun by the Wehrmacht)

You are absolutely right. I am playing soccer tonight, then we are going to have a few brews and then ...NOT watch the Oscars.
Of course down there in Guantanimo they are planning to force the terrorists to watch them as part of the softening up process. They make me want to scream - so God help those poor b'grs.
