When it somes to military recruiters, that is good, but when it comes to _______ fill in the blank, it could be bad.

True, if you put in gay marriage or gay tolerance training, you might see a different response. The military should not be discriminated against, which I agree. But if we are forcing any arbitrary federal rules on schools then it will become a problem.

See my post #199. I think there is indeed a danger in this ruling for conservatives, even if we might sympathize with it in this instance. Just how far can the feds go in telling you what to do if you accept fed money, even in matters having no direct relationship to the use of that money?

Roberts have been successful at having several unanimous decisions. Apparently, his collegiality is real.

God bless GWB.

I know I'm late to the party but I figured I'd ping you to this just in case you didn't see it.

I say pull all tax money (esp fed) out of the universities (aka as "pits of depravity" anyway)

Isn't good news cheering!

...The Supreme Court agreed to hear the government’s appeal after a U.S. appeals court in Philadelphia ruled the law could not be enforced because it infringed on the constitutional free-speech rights of the universities.

The justices reversed that ruling....

How could a US Appellate Court get it so wrong that it is unanimously overturned?

Thank you, XJarhead, for setting the record straight! We hear about the ACLU constantly, and some of us have a tendency to let the "bad" lawyers give them all a bad name.

It's just that lawyers get slammed so much, but we're the ones out there most often fighting in public for the conservative agenda in the courts and legal system.

>Head hung in shame<
You are right. As an ex-police officer, I should know better! I was a police officer in Memphis during the time of the Rodney King incident. The abuse, and condemnation that police officers have to endure is very frustrating. I now realize lawyers have it even worse than police officers do.

Thank you for not flaming me, but instead, posting all the good things that lawyers and the Federalist Society are accomplishing. I really do appreciate it. Your demeanor in handling my comment, shows a lot about you as a person, and a lawyer.
God Bless you!

I love it. Thank you, U.S. Supreme Court, following the law of the land.

Now, it's time to cut off federal funding to campus who bar military recruiters.

One of the arguments to force Virginia Military Institue to take female cadets was that the school took Federal money. There was a threat to pull all of the ROTC units from the school. Without ROTC VMI would be a shadow on the hill side, so they relented and took on females. I see no reason to apply the same pricipal to the other colleges in the US.

Take the money and you dance to our jig.

This was a no-brainer but being "unanimously" decided is a bit surprising.

LOL, that's cool. Let's cut the federal fundings for those anti-males women studies programs, and use that $$ to promote Math,Science, and Help NASA Space Programs get back into space. Help find new planet to live.
