Someone needs to take to court the discounted in-state tuition rates for illegal alien state residents versus the full tuition charged to students whose out of state residence cause them to be charged even though they are U.S. citizens. That's reverse discrimation of another sort.

""Perdue faces a very real challenge this fall from Democratic Secretary of State Cathy Cox""
Time reporting what they wish was the news, not what actually is...Sonny's approval rating is well above 50% and Cathy Cox hasnt even won the DEM primary yet.

No one will do it because the leftists have convinced so many people that any such action would be racist. Plus, the SCOTUS already said affirmative action was still needed so this would probably be included in that type of decision. You know, damn the constitution, full speed ahead.

Since When is Vincente Foxe running the welfare departments of the USA? Just when did he start paying the bills?

The country needs a bill like it passed, and if they don't than other states need to follow suit.
This is a crisis situation that needs getting tough!
Just the socialists, liberals, Fox and the illegal criminals think it's draconian, it isn't tough enough for the situation at hand. 10-20 million invading this country needs tough legislation for our security.
Secure our borders and stop this invasion Senators.

But that may not be enough for Tisha Tallmann, Southeast regional counsel for the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund. She says her organization is still considering a legal challenge to the Act, in part because immigrants, she says, contribute some $200 million to the annual tax base, and should not be denied public services that they help fund. Oh please. Not this garbage again. Illegal immigrants consume more tax dollars than they produce.

Correct. We beat Mexico once -- we can do it again.

"Instead of waiting for Congress," says Tallmann,Moron. The amount illegals take out at least doubles that..

Yes, Sonny's up because of this bill. Cox still has to beat Mark Taylor (a big fat old time liberal). Cox would be more or a challenge to Sonny, but she might not win.

I suspect Cathy Cox will do well in ATL and suburbs. I saw an SUV driven by a soccer mom with a GW Bush sticker on one side and Cathy Cox sticker on the other.
To: GeorgefromGeorgia
Mark Taylor is about as smart as a bag full of wet mice.
I heard him speak the other day. Either his staff is abysmal and didn't prepare him for the meeting, or else he is so dumb that all the staff in the world can't get him prepared.
I was unimpressed, to put it mildly. Who is this guy, anyway?

WTF cares what Vincente Fox says; since when was he elected to office in the USA.
To: BenLurkin
Well lets see. You have your solid law supporting Citizens on one side and confused denigrators of the law Citizens and illegal aliens on the other.

Go Georgia!
Georgia elected a Republican Governor, Senate & Legislature who addressed illegal aliens!
State Senator Chip Rogers effectively provided the leadership for this legislation!
Vincente Fox can yell all he wants. He is not the Governor of Georgia.

I spend time on Flickr.com and people have been posting protest pictures, especially the signs. It's like a watered-down version of DU on each of those threads. I've tried to inject logic and get mobbed down by people immediately, or just smothered by saccharine support for illegals.
"We took the indian's land, therefore we have no right to be here either...blah,blah,blah."
Idiots.

There is always the 1776 solution: A mass meeting of Patriots, who then demand redress of grievances. If it goes unanswered, then Declare Independence from Mexico.
If they refuse to allow us self rule, then full scale revolt, and set up our our country north of the Rio Grande. Write a Constitution guaranteeing basic liberties, and limiting government; maybe a constitutional democratic republic?
Demand that any citizen who retains allegiance to Mexico, and does not have kegal permission to be here, then be repatriated to south of the new border? Name it, say...The United States of America?

I agree that other states need to take action but our RINO governor of Alabama will not take any action unless it is to raise taxes.

Assuming that 800,000 illegal aliens paid into the $200,000,000 tax base, it amounts to $250 each. What a deal! I wish that were all the taxes I had to pay.
