Reports Stating Rush Limbaugh Was Arrested Are Inaccurate; Limbaugh's Attorney Holds Press Conference at 8:00 pm Tonight
Friday April 28, 7:55 pm ET

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- A spokesman for Rush Limbaugh said some news reports that state Mr. Limbaugh was arrested are inaccurate.

Separately, Rush Limbaugh's attorney, Roy Black will hold a press conference at 8:00 pm this evening at the Marriott Hotel at 1001 Okeechobbee Road in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Mr. Black will discuss the agreement reached today with the State Attorney's Office whereby a single count charge of doctor shopping that was filed today by the State Attorney will be dismissed in 18 months.

As previously announced, a primary condition of the dismissal, Mr. Limbaugh must continue to seek treatment from the doctor he has seen for the past two and one half years. This is the same doctor under whose care Mr. Limbaugh has remained free of his addiction without relapse.

Mr. Black stated, "Mr. Limbaugh and I have maintained from the start that there was no doctor shopping, and we continue to hold this position. Accordingly, we filed today with the Court a plea of 'Not Guilty' to the charge filed by the State.

"As part of this agreement, Mr. Limbaugh also has agreed to make a $30,000 payment to the State of Florida to defray the public cost of the investigation. The agreement also provides that he must refrain from violating the law during the 18 month period, must pay $30 per month for the cost of "supervision" and comply with other similar provisions of the agreement.

"Mr. Limbaugh had intended to remain in treatment. Thus, we believe the outcome for him personally will be much as if he had fought the charge and won," he said.

BTW, would like to see some evidence that lead to your prediction of the demise of AM radio.

Suckage is self-evident.

I guess the old Limbaugh shrine and incense sticks improve reception.

I don't care for Limbaugh's arrogance and I don't care for AM radio, or talk radio more specifically.

If you have a problem with that, tough.

Sounds like you got old Rushbag figured. Sort of depends on what arrested is, is.

I have heard Rush talk about satellite radio and he was firm about not going there. He said he was going to remain loyal to all the local affiliates.

Don't project your wacko-ness on me. I just said there is nothing good about tobacco and people that promote it are bad people and people that use it are making a bad decision.

I'm so traditional I think Rush is a fellow traveler, but I'll say this: Why is it the birkenstockers claim that drugs are the key to some sort of obscure liberation until a "conservative" is caught with them? Then the consequences are, well, what they are hellish payment for a bad choice, and well deserved indeed.

Gary Sawyer Editorial Sunday, May 7, 2006 in the Decatur, Il Herald & Review newspaper with my reply.

Gary:

I'm afraid your bias is showing again and your ignorance as per your article in the Sunday paper about Rush Limbaugh.

You see, if you truly had "ever" listened to Rush you would know that he does indeed have compassion for users of perscribed medications who become addicted. You listed Bill & Hillary, Al Gore or John Kerry as possible figures he should feel compassion for (are they using drugs?) News to me. But you did not mention Patrick Kennedy so you evidently did not listen to Rush Friday, May 5---when he indeed did express compassion for someone who professed to be addicted to perscribed medication. I'm sure you will hurry to find the transcript of that broadcast so you may clarify your mistake and print your retraction.....?? (I won't hold my breath.)

So in your attempt to try to write an article that proves you have no bias against conservatives you have failed again.

I wish more Freepers would send him contact him and let him know the truth.

Why? You're wrong about the matter and can't even admit it.

Sorry for the delay in responding, but...

In wading through your blather I can't seem to find a reply to my asking for proof of your claim of the imminent demise of AM radio.

And I can't seem to find any requirement for me to prove anything, so we're even!

It's called an "opinion".. got a dictionary?

Or maybe one of your talk radio demigods will explain it to you, they have
precious little else other than opinions and should be able to define it for you.

You made a claim and cannot support it with evidence, hence you've no credibility. If yours was an opinion then it should have been stated as such. Trying now to "explain" that you didn't ACTUALLY mean what you said Just makes you look like a...well, like a Democrat.

Are you?
