I should wear my glasses. I first read this as "Cat Tsunami Alert". Brings new meaning to "raining cats and dogs).

And I was hoping CA would be washed out to sea...no great loss.

California had more votes for GW Bush than any state of the union... Free Republic is based in California... care to retract your comment?

Several years ago, I worked at a hotel in Los Angeles, near the airport. The King of Tonga stayed at our hotel on a few occasions. He was HUGE! Their custom was that he was worth his weight in gold, and he was a very rich man. He was also very rude.

I got a call from a local phone operator complaining that some guy claiming to be the King of Tonga was calling from our phones and wanted to make an international call. I had to explain that he really was a king, and apologize for his rudeness, but would she please help the guy because he really was a king and a guest at our hotel.

"When I lived in California, if there was a tsunami warning issued telling people to stay away from the beaches you couldn't even get near the place because half the state turned out to watch the waves."

I lived in San Francisco and as a kid ran out the the Cliff House and watched the high waves come in.

Is that what you were hoping? Were you aware that more people in California voted for President Bush than in any other state in the United States? Were you aware that Free Republic is based in California?

Quit wishing ill on others. It's unseemly.

"California had more votes for GW Bush than any state of the union... Free Republic is based in California... care to retract your comment?"

But even more votes for RATS, and is the most left state of the union- hence the nic "left coast". As for FR being located in California, I guess it shows that you can make the best of a bad situation if you put your mind to it.
