George H.W. Bush was an EXCELLENT president and that he didn't do one thing that you wanted (not raise taxes after pledging not to, and not realizing that he raised them to pay for the Gulf War) is why we got Clinton.

GHWB was an ok President .. but I wouldn't say excellent

With that said .. I have never understand why anyone would vote for the nutcase Perot

Would you really want moderators who don't have opinions about politics?

Yes. I would prefer mods to be impartial during their shifts and only post their opinions when they are posting under their real screen names.

Go look at some of the crap on the lesbian thread from yesterday. That certainly does not support the family-friendly look and feel of Free Republic, yet many get away with it all day long with a wink and a nod.

Back up your claim.

In public? The last time I posted in a thread mentioning that 2 conservative friends who had been FReepers for awhile were banned for what was rather capricious moderation the posts were deleted and the Admin Mod told me to quit it.

Is it okay now?

I am all for the FENCE NOW.

I think you underestimate the forces for evil overtly obvious in the DIMRAT CAMP but stepping back for a greater perspective view of the whole big picture--the globalist forces have many nooses around our collective throats--especially around our Constitutional rights, media, institutions, freedoms etc. And, they have the means of drawing those nooses tight.

Certainly 33% roughly are vigorously and blindly, mindlessly cheering such Marxist efforts on. Another 5-30% depending are happy to collude when the delusion and Machiavellian manipulations are slick enough to foll them into it--which is increasingly common.

Giving the DIMRATS more power at this point in history would be truly suicidal to the Bill of Rights, to our Republic and to Freedom loving folks everywhere. It might not mean the demise of our Republic. I believe God will eventually raise it back up more or less regardless. But it looks at present that the forces of evil are determined to shred our Republic in order to make raising up the Global tyrannical government far easier.

They are not kidding.

And they are more powerful than you seem to believe.

Voting them MORE power will only speed their traitorous efforts regardless of if it's 2 years, 4 years or 8 years.

And I seriously question whether after 4 years or however many of Shrillery in power--whether we COULD have another fair election, or not.

Hey no worries, I sometimes feel like I am on the "other side" on every subject on every thread I participate in. LOL It's all good.

My grandfather once told me that if you are offering alternatives along side your opposition there is good chance you will make everyone mad at some point or another.

i use that as a feel good measure when I fell like I have angered everyone around me.

Nice rant and I agree with most of what you said.

The one issue that I will give the Republicans zero wiggle room on however is the amnesty disaster.

If this legislation goes down the way it looks like it's going to, our job just gets 100% harder if not impossible. If tens or hundreds of millions of illiterate Hispanics are granted citizenship and subsequently the vote, just who do you think they will vote for? It certainly wont be the Republicans. If we allow this to happen, it wont matter how loyal we are to the conservatives in Congress. After a few years of this, there wont be any there to be loyal to.

18 Senators (R) and the administration are so wrong on this, that it scares me to death. This is not a political game! This is OUR COUNTRY! Secure the borders FIRST .

You won't find a democrat that is pro-life, wants to cut taxes, support the second amendment.

You will find that democrats want America to be controlled by an international world government, you will find democrats do not honor America as the great nation she is.

You must remember - candidates lie to get votes. Democrats have to lie because they cannot publicly state what their goals are.

The reason democrats want illegal immigrants is for the votes they will mine from them. They will never be for defending the border because newcomers will be ignorant and can be lured to vote - whether citizens or not.

It is important to understand what liberals are. You do not learn from what they say they are.

You need to listen to a little of Rush Limbaugh for an education in what the goals of liberals are.

Naturally, disagreeing with the President on specific issues is not necessarily "bashing." I'm referring to the overwhelming tone of anger and personal invective directed toward him that has characterized much of FR in recent months. It's the sort of thing we used to scoff at when it was the province of DU.

Then you have a VERY selective memory. The president has frequently ended speeches with God bless America.

Exactly.

I feel like I'm like I'm in Bizzaro World.

We have elected officials in the US Government rewarding breaking the law and refusing to control the border *AND* conservatives are defending them.

Incredible.

One thing that will be very important for the future of the Conservative movement, is for us to not assume that all Conservatives are PERFECT Conservatives. The Perfect Conservative does NOT exist. Even Reagan raised taxes. Who would dare suggest Reagan was not a Conservative?
