Please be in prayer for our LadyX. She will be undergoing surgery tomorrow morning(5/24/06). Any of you who know LadyX, know that she has been a member of our FR Family for a long time and is very much loved and respected. She has inspired us, made us laugh, given us some of the wisest of advice, wowed us with tales of her life in the Marines, and shared her childhood memories of an idealic time. Some will recall the sailing of the Mobius, or the time on the tropical island. We have shared many adventures. Now, it's time to let her know how much she is loved.
Post your prayers, encouragements, jokes, pictures or memories, so she will have them to read when she gets back home.
PRAYERS CONTINUE ON YOUR BEHALF SISTER FROM THE NORTHERN FLOCK FILLED WITH THOSE PESKY FORMER MARINES!
OR AS PASTOR MARK REFERS TO THEM AS GRAFTED WILD OLIVE BRANCHES!
SEMPER FI AND GODSPEED!
Thanks for the update & words from the dear Maggie, herself!
I am sure you felt better after talking with her.
Too bad she has to be hospital bound for the memorial holiday. She will have lots of FReeping to catch up on forsure!
She says that when the waves come she just tells the Lord, "Lift me up over the wave." What courage from someone who has rode so many waves.
Hmmmm. I've seen those beach pictures of Maggie. She must be some kinda surfer dudess riding the waves.
Prayers continuing.
A beautiful graphic you posted for LadyX
Continued prayers for Maggie
Hugs, Love and Prayers for LadyX ..I missed Freeper Island so I must leave that fun to others..
I did take care of The Thin Man for her..Offered him a relish tray with suggestions of one carrot stick and a bit of celery to smooth over his shock and dismay over yesterday's thread. (political men in drag..LOL)He still worried that I was trying to fatten him up..something I would NEVER do! ;)
So lovely and loving.
Thank you. Wish I could do more...but prayer is the best thing right now....and at all times.
Thank you. It's the least I could do for this wonderful Lady.
Thanks so much for the update...
After reading it, and mentioning her toe...I understand now...dumb me. I mentioned when you first put up the prayer thread that she and I had had talks about my granddaughter's diabetes at only 5 years old...
Lady, you always reassured me, and made me feel better, because you had lived so long with it, and without the new treatments...
Well God Bless you...and I hate what you are going through, but, you and I both know things could have been worse..and you would be the first to say that..
I love your spirit and your fight...it puts me to shame whenever I feel sorry for myself...
My prayers are continuing and you are in my thoughts and heart as well...
sleuth
LOL. She loved your story about the general and the rose.
Yes, I think a return to the island would be good medicine for her. Sad to say, I never made it to the island. I seem to recall peeking in once in awhile. I was on the cruise of the Mobius however.
Thanks for the update. Continued prayers for LadyX's recovery.
Prayers continue
There is No Way to Put into Words How Much you are Loved and Respected, Dear Lady! Your Beautiful Spirit is a Glory to Him Who Gives us His Grace, Peace, and Strength! (Thank you for this New Update, Dear Nan!)
Well now, if she can make her belly laugh then she doesn't need a kidney, she needs liposuction...ba da bing!
Seriously though, it wasn't my kidney, it was Beowulf's.
It's a good thing she goes into the horsepittal now and agin or I'd never forgive her for turning that Saloon into a Fern Bar...with scented candles and no ice in the latrine...you'd think a Marine would know better...maybe there is something to that tale about how they got to be called Jarheads...
Pardon my ignorance, but what is a Fern bar? Sounds interesting.
A Fern Bar was an 1980's upscale or preppy or yuppie bar or tavern usually decorated with ferns or other "fussy" plants, as well as fake tiffany lamps. Typical drinks were wine spritzers or pina coladas. Fern Bars preceded the fake-Irish chain upscale bar/eateries.
This old liberal just couldn't handle the preppy yuppy bit...too close to being just another snooty Republican country club...speaking of which, I hear Ken Lay's memberships are available at real discounts...and they come with free carts...pedal, not electric.
On the other hand, Ken might be needing them in that country club he is going to. Maybe he will keep just one. I suppose he could put them on e-bay.
