I guess it means that not everyone ranks Carter as the "worst President." Such polls are meaningless, because most people could not tell you a single thing that Carter ever did.

I once read somewhere that when Kennedy died, he entered "the blameless house of the assassinated."

Polls are created and skewed to get certain results to fit a specific agenda. Polls are junk. Worthless. Useless. Garbage.
To: Kaslin
This is a clear example of the power of the mainstream media. If you look at the long term ramifications of the policies they implemented, then you can not look at these numbers and know that there is a concerted effort to skew the public toward democrats.

Polls are bought and paid for affairs, they get the answers they want. Generally if public sentiment coincides with the "correct" position, they will be trumpeted loudly. If not, they will be manufactured to meet requirements.

As ridiculous as JFK's rating! He did cut taxes and started NASA, but he bungled the Bay of Pigs and did little else that was good. Of course he was much better than Jimmy.
To: Kaslin
Jimmmmmmy 61% but they only polled left wing extremists and Iranian radicals. Amen.

I'd like to see what the polling questions were. For example, was one of them, "Which former president has most frequently attacked President Bush's policies, both here and abroad?"

I was medically discharged from USN in '78 and went to work for a "black ops" contractor at NRL in DC. Jimmy was the reason I left govt service. First off, he limited contractor pay raises to those of the govt/military. I had an outstanding eval in 1979 and received a 4/10 of 1% pay raise. It was a damned insult. Then, he decided that all contractors had to pay for parking on govt. facilities. That was another $68 out of my pocket. I couldn't deal with it anymore. Told my boss at TRW that I was out of there. The attrition rate was staggering during the late '70's.
Plus, I'm living in Northern Virginia trying to buy a house and the interest rate is 21%. Good Effing Luck!!!
As a combat vet, I was totally embarrassed by what that idiot did wrt to a hostage rescue. I was more embarrassed that he let it happen to begin with, and didn't respond with immediate, crushing force (sorta like dubya did).
A friend of mine from "WACA" (White House Communications Agency), who did presidential duty, told me that Rosalyn was an absolute harridan and that Jimmy would sit in his study after hours and knock back Jack Daniels like they were going to quit brewing the stuff.
Maybe the 61% vote is from people who think he does such a great job building free houses for poor people. I wouldn't give him 11%. And I'm one who lived through his BS...

Wow! The fact that "Peanut Carter" got 61% approval just shows you that most people have no idea at what a rotten president Carter was. Thanks to this spine less ideate Iran is threatening us with nuclear weapons! The fact that JFK got 84% is just scary. That "pretty boy" almost started a nuclear war between the US and Cuba because he back down to Castro at the last second. Also the fact that Clinton is still popular is scary too. Just shows how stupid people can be.
