I cannot believe Shep Smith is presenting himself as competent to assess the IDF campaign in Lebanon. I remember this dilettante babbling about "just carpet bombing" in Afghanistan right before the Taliban was routed. Why is it that every TV newsman with a mike in his hands thinks he can pontificate on any subject regardless of his knowledge of it? What silly philistines these newsmen are.
It should mean, that in comparison with the liberal media, THIS station will present the OTHER side, so that the conservative voice is not squelched, so that the overall discussion is fair and balanced. Instead the libs can go to FOX and learn from libs. Why not have them tune in and learn in ONLY conservative views? That would get better reporting, too--truth telling.
I might be in the minority here, but I like Shep's work.
I like his no-nonsence approach when covering stories that have a really human angle (like Katrina).
BTTT
Thanks for the bump, didnot know of this thread. I have emailed Fox twice-last night and today about Shep. One to talkback@foxnews.com and one to feedback@foxnews.com. Not sure if either one is the correct address.
I couldn't agree more, especially about Chippee Smith. This guy was born on 3rd and acts like he worked his way there.
bump to read later. Never watch shep, especially since his "reporting" on Katrina.
The only time Shep's been in uniform was when he went to a costume party once in the East Village.
"that nice dig on Cindy Sheehan on Laura's show was the other day was priceless
I missed that - what did he say?"
Laura asked him if he had any plants that needed watering or pets that needed to be fed since he is always on assignment. He said that he had a dog but that it was now at a ranch, President Bush's, I believe he said, or near there. Well, Laura said, "Do you think you can sick the dog on Cindy Sheehan the next time she is out there at Camp Casey?" Mike Tobin laughed and said that his dog, though she was a Great Dane, was a big sweetheart, but would probably run from Cindy Sheehan. Made him my favorite reporter.
I'm sorry, Mrs. Smith, your son is doing a poor job. If you read the whole thread, you see many here at freerepublic agree. Warm regards to you and your son.
